hi can any one offer any help please,i am 44 years old with 5 teenage children.i had a total hysterectomy nearly 2 years ago am on elleste solo hrt tabs 2mg daily.i have an underactive thyroid, was on 125 mgs for 12 years, been on 100 mgs for 2 weeks.also on xenical tabs for 9 months, and a vegetarian for 12 years. My problem is i feel exhausted all of the time, i have been to the gp several times and all they seem to say is do you feel depressed[:@] i can't remember not feeling like this its been so long.i have no problem going to sleep do not wake in the night, when i do wake in the morning i feel as though i have not slept at all.i have to drag myself out of bed and the day begins, i have no energy to do anything, sometimes my joints ache, and my head feels as if there is a load of cobwebs stuck inside it ! I went back to my gp who did a blood test for my thyroid that came back ok, but my thyroxine was decreased because i was still having hot flushes/sweats after being on hrt since my operation nearly 2 years ago, and she said the thyroxine could be making me tired :eek:and interfering with the hrt, so i have to wait until the end of the month before i have another blood test. has any one had similar problems to me and can you tell me how you overcome them. sorry to go on for so long. many thanks julie
RE: tiredness
{{{{{{{{Jules}}}}}}}} Sorry you are feeling so rough, I would suggest you go back to the doctor again and persevere, try and get them to refer you to a specialist if you can?
Hope you feel better soon xxx
RE: tiredness
YEAH ME ! I emailed you Lyn
RE: tiredness
2 questions:
1. What blood type are you?
2. Did your GP check for vitamin B12?
(The thyroid may well just be a red herring here - although lethargy is common with thyroid complaints)
RE: tiredness

RE: tiredness
ask whether taking up chi kung may be of help to you.. certainly, it may be beneficial and give you more energy...
RE: tiredness
Feel sorry for you, trouble is tiredness is a symptom of just about every type of illness.
Are you suffering depression, could be iron deficiencies, thyroid disease.......but if you have had blood test that would tell if that was out of whack!
Do you suffer sleep apnoea, or could it be your diet?
Hope your feeling better soon, keep us informed.
