Hi, new to the forums. I'm hoping for some advice.

My symptoms started 6 weeks ago tomorrow, I woke up feeling dizzy and a general unwell feeling. This went on for a few days so I went to GP, he said I had a slight fever, blood pressure/heart rate was normal. He said it was most likely viral and these things sort themselves out within 1-2 weeks.

2 weeks passed and I was still the same, dizzy from waking up, maybe dizzy is the wrong word more a spaced out, detached type feeling. I also had pains on and off in the tops of my arms, back and chest, sometimes stabbing pains but mostly aches. And the general unwell feeling remained, like nervousness, butterflies that kind of thing, and slight nausea although I haven't actually been sick.

I went back to GP after about 3 weeks, this time they did blood tests and a chest x-ray, all came back fine. They did ESR that was fine also.

Now doctor says Post Viral Fatigue, he said a slow gradual recovery taking 2-3 months.

The thing I dont understand though is I can't seperate where the virus stopped and the PFS started, the symptoms have seemed the same throughout. Has anyone any experience of this. My body does feel quite tired, but i'm not tired in the sense of I could sleep all day.

Luckily i'm managing to keep up with work, but not feeling up to anything socially.

Is there anything else it could be or do I just need to wait it out 2-3 months?

Any advice appreciated.

Ben

I did recover from Post viral Fatigue thankfully ..I first got laryngitis ..but the it turned to a viral infection and onto sinus infection....after 3 weeks of antibiotics I thought I would be over it..but after itI still Ifelt exhausted..... no energy, dizziness and headaches and my legs were so heavy and sore and my arms ached at times. I can honestly say I have never felt so bad in my life. It literally changed my life. I would not wish it on any good person ever. I read about it and got so worried that I would end up with ME..chronic Fatigue syndrome..if i still had it after 6 months..then it would be diagnosed as Me. I read all I could about it and the main thing that stayed with me was..Rest...and not to over do it at that critical time. Pace yourself was the main cure...

I had just finished my job at end of summer when it all started so I was lucky in a way to not have a job as I had time to rest..pace myself...and I Do believe that it is the main reason that I got over post viral Fatigue. I had it for 8 weeks..and i was not the person I used to be, I was normally full of energy. I couldnt enjoy nights out like I used to..I was trying so hard to be the happy person I am but i felt wrecked and weak.

I also was told by my Gp that I had Iron overload and too much B12 at the time...which i thought strange..as usually it would be too little iron or B12 that would make you weak.. so I couldnt even take extra vitamins as was told I had enough.

But what I did do was rest when I could..drink more water..less alcohol...although I didnt drink alot anyway..and I went to the e-cig instead of real smokes. and 8 weeks after I woke up one day..feeling stronger..more alert..headaches and pains in legs and arms gradually went away and I thought....has this gone? dare I believe it ?

but yes..it went away...i still dont have the same energy I once had...4 weeks later ...but i am 90% me again...
but the one thing that it did to mark me still is that now I have eye bags and hollow eyes as a memory....and Im trying my best to get rid of those..as now I have lost a lot of confidence in the way i look. I was never going to be a supermodel but with makeup I felt alot more confident with how I look...but since post viral vatigue grabbed me...it has changed me.but when I... If I..... get rid of these bags under my eyes....then I can move on from this horrible illness...that nobody will ever understand..even doctors....unless they live..or more like endure through it....my thoughts and good wishes are with anyone out there going through this right now....as nobody ever knows when it will strike them...it could strike me again..I hope not..but I dont know that. thanks for listening.

You could try Ethosheaven products? My grandma did and they really helped her. Good luck!
