Does anyone have any advice please?

My 92 year old Granny suffers a lot with very painful polymyalgia, mostly in one shoulder. She is adament about only taking one pain killer each evening, I guess this helps her to sleep, but she won't follow the advice from family and her GP to take a pain killer each morning. She can barely move her arm because the pain is so bad. Her reasons for not taking more pain relief is because she does'nt want to become dependent on them.

Any tips on changing the mind of a very lovely, yet very stubborn, old lady??

RE: Polymyalgia

Hi. My mother had polymyalgia some years ago and recovered. I think the doctor gave her steriods but she did not like taking them. She came off the steriods and recovered completely using homopathic remedies prescribed by an excellent homopath. I suppose if the pain got that bad your granny might take the pain killers, maybe that should be her choice, they won't cure her. However I hope my mothers case gives you hope that there can be a cure. Best wishes to you and your granny.

RE: Polymyalgia

Thank you Greengrass!
That is good to hear. I should read more about it to find out more, I do wonder if it is genetic and if there is anything I should be doing to avoid getting it. My Aunty has it too, luckily a low does of steroids seems to be keeping it under control for her.
