Hi all
Ive suffered from depression and anxiety for a long time. I have a foggy head, bouts of no energy, sometimes loss of coordination, nauseousness a lot, stomach ache for weeks now, muscles soreness and joint aches and pains.
I'm really fed up with this. Ive read bits on here about candida and food allergies but havent any money to go to anyone. Could someone please say whether they think I might have either of these? Also someone suggested taking a tablet for thrush to see whether symptoms improve- which one and for how long please? Also elimination diets- Ive seen these in books but with my lack of ability to concentrate and low energy Ive found these too hard to try- could someone please tell me exactly what to eat for however long of stuff that will have less likelihood of allergens in it?
I know Im asking a lot but I am so unhappy with how things are.
Thank you very much
Idiot

Hi. Suggest you send an email to Anahata (Andrew). He is knowledgable on candida and we both use a system called NAET.
Hope it helps.
RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Thanks Candie I'll do that 🙂
Snowdrop- never met a pretentious snowdrop before. Please remember these are real people with real feelings here and appreciate compassion and help not a fortune cookie reader. Being glib is easy and when young a lot of us do this because we get into something and think its the answer- life is more complex than that though. If you have never experienced anything like the anguish some people here have gone through then you probably dont realise how rude and arrogant a post like that comes across as- please dont do that to anyone else. Better to say "You are in my prayers" or some words of empathy than glib, thoughtless lines.

RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Dear Idiot,
The antifungal drugs you ask about are Diflucan & I think Canistan have now released one. Their about £8 - 12 a tablet - you only get on in the box. They're advertised for women with thrush, because they think men never have this problem. [sm=banghead.gif]
Like I said on the other thread - It's likely to make you feel a whole lot worse for a day or two. Okay, you may then feel better for a few days or a week, but it may not be worth it, if your system is so low. 🙁
Most likley foods that will aggravate: [:o]
Joint & Muscle Pain (Inflammation) - All simple sugars in any form, even fruit sugar - take a low acid or esterfied vitamin C supplement.
Non fermented dairy products: Milk, cream & processed food containing lactose (the sugar found in milk).
Foggy head, joint pain & depression - Grains - wheat is most common, followed by other gluten containing grains. Have a chat in your local health food shop. Try a gluten free porridge & unlevened rye bread.
Tea & Coffee, maybe also. Drink Rooibosh tea from Health food shop - it's an excellent cleanser & it's alkaline. Another option is Nettle Tea - pick 'em dry 'em - make tea, there fairly cheap to buy, though.
Very tricky, if no money, cos the only allergy testing, reluctantly available on the NHS is the skin scratch test, which by their own admision (post on that somewhere) is not much use.
To do it on a low budget would be:
Get yourself an Allergy Test - VEGA, BEST or MORA systems from a reputable or recommended allergy tester - if you're unconvinced.
Otherwise - go straight to a NAET Practitioner. Any decent practitioner will have a concessionary rate for those on a low income and you can just go when you can. YOu don't have to go regularly. YOu can just go when you can afford to!
There's a database of practitioners on & more info on the NAET website in my signature below. As yet there aren't many practitioners in the UK, but will do our best to try & rustle up someone for you if we can.
In the meantime you can get your local library to order in the book -
Say Goodbye to Illness - Dr Devi Nambudripad or Say Goodbye to your Allergies (simplified version of SGTI- for lay people) by same author. 😉
I accept that this may seem all a bit odd, but if you have multiple Allergies, sensitivities & intolerances to food & other things that are continually in your system, then you may have no idea what is causing what symptoms. [&:]
I have been thru CFS (M.E.)/Fibromyalgia / Multiple Chemical sensitivity - call it what you will - I am 99% sure that it's all the same stuff and that candida is a secondary problem because the immune system is preoccupied over-reacting to all the other stuff. Will get soap box out on the Fatigue problems thread under Ailments, which is where this thread may get moved to in time, so bear with us. [8D]
As for the slight variations in the symptom picture - well people are different & sensitive to different things. [sm=scratchchin.gif]
I admit that I do still get caught out on occasions. e.g. Eat one type of bread one day - fine, Eat another, on another - oh dear! [>:]
Think Candie cleared that one for me on Friday ( food Additives & Colourings) - so we'll see - proof of the pudding & all that! 😀
Good Luck - And.
RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Hi Anahata
Thank you for your reply.
Just for info: I take a 1000mg of Vit C per day. I drink decaffeinated tea and that is the only time I have a little milk usually. I use Splenda rather than sugar and have one spoon in tea. I am not ken on Rooibosh- I persevered with it for a month or so but its not nice 🙁 . I dont eat grains generally.
What I do do thats bad is feel low then eat a bar of chocolate and/or profiterroles or other sweets but this is fairly sporadic.
I have not had the stomach ache for weeks before and this is worrying- Ive never been regular regardless of exercise level or water intake- once every four to five days- but the Doc didnt think this was a problem.
On the website I found a lady close by in Gravesend, Kent doing Naet. I am just a bit concerned because I have tried so many different things in the past- when I had some money- and everyone says yes we can help but they get my money and I got nothing. Forgive my scepticism.
Should I not try the thrush tablets as if its allergies then that wont make any difference will it?
I appreciate your help- sorry my tone is a bit negative but I'm worn out with all of this.
Take care

RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
It's not an instant quick fix, although occasionally you get the odd one with dramatic improvements. I do recommend you get your hands on the second book I mention above to make the most of it.
To save me re-writing half my life story 🙁 - there's some on this old thread.
Might fill a few details later.

Dear IS, this sounds horrible. I really feel for you. Has your GP not been able to help you eg with blood tests, or have they drawn a blank? I'm not a medical practitioner but I wondered about ME when I read your symptoms. If you want I'd be more than happy to send you some reiki healing, you can PM me if this is something you'd like. Big hugs and lots of strength being sent in the meantime [sm=hug.gif]
RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Thanks Siobhan
I am a Reiki level three myself- good at helping others when i feel up to it but not good at self healing here. Please send me some 🙂 Reiki- thank you.
Dont think its ME cos it isnt always debilitating- some times I have a fair bit of energy. However this stomach ache and energy drain is causing me to get very tearful and thats something I rarely get like.
I think Im going to find out about the Institute of Optimum Nutrition first then look into NAET but Reiki will be appreciated while I do that 😉
Take care

RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Just a thought, that if you haven't got the money for a full treatment, you could always find someone who's training and volunteer to be a case study? Hope you get better soon.

RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
What a great idea June. Where are you based Idiotsavant? Even if I don't know anyone in your area I might know of a school you could contact offering to be a case study person. It can be hard to get volunteers sometimes so I'm sure you'd get taken up on that offer. Any particular therapy you'd be interested in or are you pretty open on that score?
Reiki hugs being sent, by the way!
RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Hi Siobhan
Thanks for the Reiki hugs 🙂
I'm in Medway, Kent and am pretty much open to trying any type of healing like nutritional, energy, massage, acu, psych etc etc.
Cheers

RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Hiya! Got a link for you from Association of Reflexologists website. It's a list of their approved training schools in the UK so hopefully there is one near you that would welcome a case study person: [DLMURL] http://www.aor.org.uk/index.asp?page=learnschools#k [/DLMURL]
You could also look at the ITEC website for training centres near you: [DLMURL] http://www.itecworld.co.uk/CollegeList3.asp?_method=Go&pcount=1&p0=12849 [/DLMURL] - I see there is one in Snodland if that's near you? Postcode is ME, is that Medway?
That's for starters, got to be worth a try. You could also do a post on the Students forum here asking if anyone needs a case study person. Bet they would bite your hand off!
Good luck [sm=FIFangel.gif]
RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Hi all
I took the Canesten tablet two days ago and havent felt any different so guess it cant be candida related???
The stomach ache is still here and has been worse at times but I am despondent about seeing my useless GP as I dont think thats going to help.
The two links kindly given havent resulted in anything unfortunately but Im still looking.
Waiting to hear from the brain bio centre and then will phone the NAET lady.
take care all

RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Hello,
I SO sympathise with you and have all of the same symptoms right now.
Re tummy ache :Have you tried soya milk? I'm only suggesting it as I had severe IBS for years and years and then my husband's mum suggested trying soya milk and cutting down on cheese (which is difficult as I'm a veggie who LOVES her cheese!). I was pain free for ages.
I am only experiencing these things again, especially the IBS again now I think as a result of having prolonged stress, anxiety and depression. My tummy feels like a football and my clothes are tight again and I know its stress induced, back to the old IBS.
I am finding that this time round I'm more stressed about fixing my brain as I know that then the other problems will fade away too.
Don't give up trying different things till you find what is right for you. Although I have no concrete 'go here for free/ cheap help' advice to give you, there will be many people on this board who will be able to give you informed genuine advice. So be patient and hang on in there.
Good luck and keep in touch,
Lots of love
Nicky

Well, my day started off well, had a wonderful window of reiki bliss (thank you flower), but then, I don't know if it was an after effect or what, but I was so thirsty and had the most awful falling apart again session.
Right now though, I am feeling great! I've been reading through all the Spiritual postings on HP (and there are quite a few I can tell you!).
I hope you are feeling more positive today, even if you did have an earlier start than mine! 😀
Take care my love and PM/ email anytime OK?
Love Nicky

RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Hi to idiotsavant,
I'm a new member, and more than anything I want to empathise with you(and Nicky)I have been through all this for years, all the same syptoms apart from the nausea and tummyache.
I did wonder however if you're on any medication,or currently withdrawing any medication.I'm on paroxetine(seroxat) which usually helps, but does give me that foggy headed tired feeling you describe. Also if you were withdrawing it these symptoms worsen,in my experience, and I had then the weakness and sore joints that you have now,as well as this weird dizzy feeling when I move my head. Are you on any medication? Just a thought.
Hope you find the answer soon, just wanted to say you're not alone, and I understand how you feel.
Sending love,Ruth xxxxx

Hi Idiotsavant
A friend of mine was suffering similar symptoms to yours, I had not been happy about the amount of diet coke etc that she was drinking, so I did a bit on searching around for info to see if they might be causing any of her problems.
Side effects of Aspartame (in most sugar free drinks, a lot of sweets, cakes, biscuits, ready meals and many other things) include:
headaches
nausea
abdominal pains
fatigue
sleep problems
vision problems
anxiety attacks
depression
asthma/chest tightness
memory loss
Splenda (sucralose) gives my son stomach cramps and diarrhoea. It is dreadful stuff, you may want to research it, although Tate & Lyle have blocked some sites about it to UK web users!
Within a couple of days after cutting out all artificial sweetners she felt a lot better and now has no depression or stomach aches.
It might be worth a try giving up the artificial sweeteners for a couple of weeks to see if that helps, it won't cost you anything.
Whatever you try I hope you are feeling better soon.
RE: No energy, foggy head, weakness, soreness, pain, tension, depression etc etc
Hi, I totally feel for you. I have some of your symptoms, but I highly doubt if you are having depression or psychological disorders. They are too easy excuses. While you are searching any alternative solutions, I recommen you go though some basic tests, e.g., problem with your thyroid gland problem, anemia, etc.. Some problems like these can cause many of the symptoms you described. Hang on there. I am also searching for my solutions. I am suffering from chronic headache, dizziness, weakness, and depression (doctors suspect), and there are no reasons to have these psycholgical disorders. I have decided to search for physical anwers, but also use taichi and yoga to improve my mental ability. Though modern medicine can go a long way, mis-diagnosis makes the healing process too long and sometimes mis-directed. All the best,
Big bull

Hi Idiotsavant,
I have had exactly the same symptoms for years so I stongly empathise with you and want to see you feeling better. I got going on the Paleolithic diet. About 1 week later I was feeling fantastic, completely different with almost no symptoms at all, more energy, clear thinking, improved short term memory and concentration, reduced muscle aches and no depression. Type "introduction to paleolithic diet" into google and open the first web page option given.
All the best,
Phil
