My sister has been recently given a suspected diagnosis of fibromyalgia too.

The anti-depressants were prescribed to calm the nervous system reactions. She declined due to their addictive nature, although they were a very low dose offered.

FM is still a condition under research but I give my sister regular holistic massage treatments to keep her muscles on the move. She keeps mobile and takes exercise. But very importantly she is looking into EFT, as FM is seen to have it's origins in the nervous system, similar to a ME type condition I believe, positive thinking is paramount.

There are some EFT practitioners on HP that may be able to help.

I use massage, reflexology and aromatherapy for my sister all aimed at muscle mobility and uplifting the mind. I have a new treatment of Thai Herbal Massage which I suspect will be a more complete treatment for her.

All the best to your friend and I hope she can keep her spirits up, being happy regardless of your ailments is so physically rewarding especially for conditions of the nervous system etc, although not always easy. But I wish her well all the same.

RxXx

edit: I forgot to add it is always best to talk to your GP before commencing any forms of complementary therapies when you are under medical supervision and/or taking some types of medication.

The quantum power chip helps ease movement and pain with people who have fibromyalgia, it is based on sound resonance. It is worn around the neck so that it is placed against the skin and on a major accupuncture channel, it takes upto 3 days wearing it 24/7 to gain its maximum potential. Where it eases movement and pain, when you feel you have had enough take it off and the body goes back to its original self within 12 hours. You may have to wear it a day before you start feeling the benefits. Its medicine free.

might be worth looking into aspartame poisoning which demonstrates similar symptoms to fibromyalgia. some so called healthy foods such as special k and actimel use aspartame which is an artificial sweetener, lots of diet drinks and mints/ chewing gum etc .

The quantum power chip

Hi Lynn

Do you know of a 'reasonably priced' supplier of this item. I have googled it and from what I assume is the official website it is over £150. I would love to get my Sister one but not at that price!

I agree, those artificial sweeteners have been linked to osteoarthritis. So I am not surprised that Fibromyalgia would also result.

I'm on Amitryptiline because of nerve damage resulting from a kidney stone passed 12 years ago: it's not for depression, it is actually for pain relief. It works by blocking the pain receptors in the brain stem, so it stops the brain from registering the pain. Please don't try and stop your friend from taking Amitryptline, if it's that one (although I don't think there's another antidepressant licensed for pain relief in this country). If a "more natural way" means your friend has to suffer unnecessarily, what good is that? I remain eternally grateful to my doctor for prescribing this drug: it gave me back my life. At the time I couldn't even stand up properly, never mind walk, because of the pain. Amitryptiline worked for me. I know it may not work for your friend, but surely it's worth a try?

I am reading through 4 of the books by Hulda Clark Ph.D - and in one of them 'The Cure for all Diseases' there is a specific section on fibromyalgia.

I think it may be worth considering - and indeed I am very interested in trying to find anyone who actually puts the ideas to the test, and have made suggestions to various people and organisations - but only one acknowledgement so far.

See for more details - and I can give you the page numbers and summary details if you wish.

There are some testimonials on the .net site - for fibromyalgia and others.

I had a client recently with FM. The answer for her was to give up a terribly stressful job and to look at food intolerances. We did food tests and discovered she was intolerant to wheat - trouble is she was working for a bread manufacturer and had to sample it several times a day. We also boosted her immune system by tackling a candida problem.

It just shows how complex the human system is; we need to address all levels in order to be in balance.

xx Christine

thank-you for all the replys i have passed this information to my friend. thankfully, she is getting better lately. It's cause is very much rooted in her emotional state and her stress levels over the past year or two
