A couple of months ago I scanned an article somewhere that (I think) said women need more sleep than men. Now since seeing that article I have been observing people (family, partner etc.) around me and indeed there is a distinct pattern that the men get up early than women after going to bed at the same time. So this leads me to believe that I scanned correct and men do not need as much sleep as women.
Do you have any thoughts on this or are you able to clarify further?
Thanks

that's not so in our house. we're both like a bear with a sore head in the morning on any less than 8 hrs. 🙂
I agree to what jackiex said. In my house too I am the last man waking up and my wife has to literally push me out of bed. :p
Though there is a time difference in sleep as my wife sleeps a little early and I go to bed somewhat late but the difference in hours if taken into consideration my sleep is definitely more than my wife.
My husband always gets up way earlier than me, my father gets up way earlier than my mother.
I think this can change; anyone can need different amounts of sleep at different times in their lives, depending on all sorts of factors - general fitness, life commitments and lifestyle, whether you have kids or not! - I was not aware sleep is gender specific, interesting. Any particular reason you are assessing this?
