Some time ago, I posted some info on the removal of amalgams. I can now say that after removal of over half of mine, I am feeling better than I have for years. However the process is far from over.It has cost £500 so far, and I expect the treatment to take another 12 months; but its wonderful to know I am getting better. FIrst I will briefly relate my illnes and symptoms.

I became ill in 1984, just after having two sets of antibiotics. After three months, I was so ill that I had to sell my business and find some easy part time work. I must add that I haven't been well enough for the last 16 years to work at all.

During the last 23 years I have had most of the symptoms associated with ME. Feverishness, night sweats, headaches, complete fatigue,Brain fog, forgetfulness and a general inability to think straight. Then there has been the digestive problems like painfull stomach, and irritable bowel, with alternating constipation and diarrhea. An inability to take sugar and alcohol.

Some time ago, I came across the book 'Amalgam Illness; Diagnosis and Treatment By Andy Cutler. It did not take me long to discover that my problem was caused by chronic mercury poisoning from my dental fillings (I cannot say whether mercury poisoning is always the cause of ME)

So, I embarked upon a regime to rid myself of them and thenobtain the chelating drugs that will hopefully take the remainding mercury out of my body. Incidentally these drugs cannot and should not be used untill all traces of amalgam are removed.

AS mentioned above, I have had 7 fillings removed and replaced with plastic filling material. The change has been wonderfull. I am now ready to see what is inder the three gold crowns that are remaining. THis will either be expensive or hopefully I can get it done at the local Dental Hospital. Whatever the case, I am determined that all traces of amalgam must go.

I hope that this is of use to anyone. If you wish to find out about Andy Cutlers book that helps you to diagnose and then treat your illness you should go to - [link= http://www.noamalgam.com ]www.noamalgam.com[/link]. or do a search for Andy Cutler.

I will post again in 6 months or so. Yours Faithfully Robert.:)

Hello

Very interested to hear your story. I am concidering having my amalgams replaced as my mum died from dementia, in an attempt to lower my risk. Did you go to a specialist dentist? I have read that you should go to an amalgam free surgery.
Any advice you have would be really appreciated

Thanks
Karen

amalgams

Dear Karen,

Actually I am using my regular dentist as he is pretty helpfull. My treatment is taking a long time as I had 10 amalgams including three underneath gold crowns. So, after 6 months and quite a lot of money handed over, I still have two gold crowns to deal with. Obviously all this work has taken its toll on me but I am determined to get the work finished - hopefully within the next two or three months.
yours faithfully Robert.

Amalgams Removed

It has now been 8 months since I started to get my amalgams removed, and of course the problematic mercury. The process has been arduous and expensive - about £1200, Having said that, I am now feeling better than I have for many years. So, according to Andy Cutlers book, I have now started the second phase, which is using chelating drugs. I have purchase these from the internet and have just done my first round with DMSA. This made me feel a bit rough for a day or two but I am hopeful that in a year I will be much improved.
