RE: ARTHRITIS AND TENDONITIS
Hi
my daughter has had arthritits since age 2 (now 16) I find a blend of chamomile (roman) benzoin and lemon helps her. We've just started trying laurel oil (be careful of the dose!) so that's worth a go, great for rheumatic conditions

RE: ARTHRITIS AND TENDONITIS
Supplements such as glucosomine sulphate and MSM are known to help, as well as dietry changes (avoiding dairy, red meat and citrus)
Taking a combination of fish oils and hemp or blackseed oil is also beneficial, and the hemp and blackseed oil both can be used as a carrier oil for massage, either with essential oils or on their own.

RE: ARTHRITIS AND TENDONITIS
Typically osteo (assumed) arthritis of the wrists, especially with tendonitis is most likely from relative overuse. A bit like chronic (long term) RSI ( repetative strain injury ). At the end of day - hand will do what brain tells it to & bits in between that are not fully functioning will automatically be compensated for & 'worked around'.
The most likely culprit is stiffness in the elbows forcing the wrists to try & compensate by working harder. They may not be aware of it, but elbows are probably arthritic or arthrotic ( if not inflamed ). The majority of muscles that act on the wrist & hand actually attach above the elbow and these are probably very tight, which tends to be a causative or at least a big maintaining factor. 😮
Any osteopath could loosen off the elbows & break down the excessive tone in the forearm muscles. Their may be other factors of course, such as shoulders & neck.
They can start working on the forearm muscles themselves. Anywhere they feel to be tight & tender to pressure - will want loosening off. A good one is to get the thumb in the midline ( palm facing up ), just below crease of elbow and feel tight band as they rotate the treated forearm. Hold band back whilst rotating forearm & work down forearm. Use simillar approach with fingers down inner & outer forearm muscles. For long term relief the radio-humeral joint will need freeing off. 😉
Things to reduce inflammation in wrists - anything that will stimulate local circulation - deep massage therapy, pepper ( capsicum ) based creams ie deep heat, certain essential oils ( will leave others to advise ), heat &/or cold or alternating the two & maintaining movement, whilst not overdoing it. The ideal time to apply any of above is before bed, as the lack of movement whilst sleeping allows local build up of inflammation. If pain is disturbing sleep, then get up get, moveing & re-apply before going back to bed. The inflammation will just continue to build up if you lie there hoping it will go away & will reduce quality of sleep even if you can slip back off.
Also, any kind of acupuncture ( especially needling forearm muscles ), be it western / medical, TCM ( Traditional Chinese Medical ) or 5 Element acupuncture - should help.
Inflammation is an essential part of the healing process & is your body trying to heal itself in the face of adversity, which is why the long term use of non-steriodal anti-inflammatories ( NSAID's ) actually contribute to the degeneration of joint cartilage. If pain is restricting use & movement, then paracetamol is a relatively safer option, although not ideal, but it's critical to keep the joints moving. [:o]
Doing something sooner, rather than later is best plan, as this problem can also lead to carpal tunnel syndrome, causing pain &/or numbness in the hand and the latter can be permanent if not addressed early. 🙂
