Hi,

I hope someone can help or offer me some advice! I always seem to be tired no matter how much sleep I have! Even if I have over 8 hours sleep, I will still be tired the next day and feel really spaced out. I exercise regulary, have a good diet, take mulit vitamins and avoid caffiene.

I had glandular fever 7 years ago and the tiredness symptom has never really left me. I can't handle too many late nights or this makes my tiredness worse than usual, i'm only 22 so don't really think this is normal!!!

I also suffer from extremely bad headaches almost every day - is this connected?

Is this tiredness normal for someone who suffered from glandular fever, even if it was 7 years ago?

If anyone has any ideas please let me know!
Thanks
Charlotte x

no, it's not natural to be tired all the time. altho you are taking multi vits you really need a programme which is tailor-made for you personally, especially in view of your history. i'd recommend you find a good kinesiologist or holistic therapist. a 'good' diet is not necessarily the 'right' diet. what suits one person doesn't suit another.

Just a quick question, Charlotte. Are you drinking enough water?

RE: Always Tired!

When i was seven years old i had an infection in my left cervical lymph node so bad the doctor thought i had T.B. - since on through my childhood-teens & twenties i had intermittent bouts of glandular fever type symptoms. The lymphatic system is my weakest point in times of stress etc.
Therefore my advice in fighting back & getting on top of things are..............daily exercise routine, i jog to speed lymph flow, yoga/pilates cleanses my body systems & balances my stress/hormonal stuff.
Lots of water eliminate toxins in lymph system....grapefruit juice is cleansing & lemon squeezed in water, lots of fresh wholesome foods & good sleep works for me.
When it is too bad if i have a flu etc then - i do have a days rest, but it is mainly when i rest or if im doing too much sedentary computer work that it flares up the most as a sluggish system is a trigger for me. When my system is sluggish i get a headache - so i need to flush it out with fluids & exercise,
I find cinnamon & ginger in my foods/drinks helpfull & also rubbing peppermint oil 2% blend into my feet helps & rosemary & eucalyptus in my shampoo helps freshen me up during a bout. I find it harder in the winter & in changeable weather. I have to slow down if i over exercise also as this can cause it to flare up - its finding the right balance that works GOODLUCK - Hope this is of any help

love & light

RE: Always Tired!

Hi Thanks to everyone who has replied.

Lesley- I do drink quite a bit of water, maybe not as much as I should do but I'm trying to increase this!

NorthernLights - Do you know where I would find a kinesiologist or holistic therapist, is there a website that lists them (sorry to sound so ignorant!)

Che - Thanks so much for this, its a comfort to know other people have been through similar things and are coping with them. I've recently starting drinking hot water with lemon juice and feel so refreshed after i've drunk it (not to mention it's doing wonders for my skin!) I completely agree with you when you say that the worst days are when you don't do anything, makes me feel even more tired, such a catch 22!!!

Thanks for your help again everyone.

You're already in the right place. 😀
The HP Directory lists many practitioners of all makes and models and you'll generally find that most hang around in the forums of the same making i.e. you'll find reiki practitioners in the Reiki forum, Hypnotherapists/NLP'ers/EFT'ers in the Mind Therapies forum etc. Just take a look around and ask in the individual forums.

Charlotte

I had glandular fever when I was 15 and was left with the tired symptions for years afterwards, think they finally left when I was about 26!

The best thing I ever did was go to a kinesiologist its amazing what they can work on even down to a chemical level, I can't recommend them enough.

Good luck and hope you are feeling better soon.

RE: Always Tired!

I feel sorry for you, Charlotte...I can sympathise fully.

I'm 39 now and had a mild case of GF when I was in my late teens. I was told then that you could only have GF once and it gave you immunity to further attacks. This was a load of rubbish.

2 and a half years ago I had a severe dose of GF, plus it was complicated with hepatitis. Since then I have not felt as well as I did before I had it.

I have had brief re-occurances since then, suffered from depression (I was a very optimistic person before), and have had a pain in my left side that re-occurs quite often. My doctor is of the view that my spleen my have been damaged because of the severity of my GF, and has sent me for a CT scan.

I just don't have the energy I used to have, and become depressed more often. I just want to feel healthy again.

I have cut back on my coffee consumption, given up alcohol, switched to low fat foods, begun taking vitamins and drinking green tea...but, though at times I feel I'm getting better, I still have relapses.

I have researched GF as much as I can and can only assume that it can cause Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as is suggested by some physicians.

I hope you can find some lasting solution to your problem...:)
