My Mom's 71 and has always suffered with IBS.
About 4-5 months ago she had a change in her bowel movements and the aches and pains that she "usually" gets with her IBS.
She says her bowel movements are often a lot looser. She has pain under her ribs (but not in her back) and frequent nausea which has given her no appetite, therefore she is losing quite a bit of weight.
She has sent off a stool sample to her Doctor, and will be going for the results in due course.
But I was wondering if anyone might know what the problem is?
Hi Alison
I think you must wait for the results from the doctor first. It could be all sorts of things. Once certain things have been eliminated then we can offer suggestions but it might well be worth her seeing a registered Nutritional Therapist who will look at her as a whole and suggest what might help her specifically. For example poor digestion due to lack of stomach acid comes too mind but there are various checks to be made before coming to that conclusion.
I do hope she gets sorted soon and please let us know how things progress.
Alison,
She has digestion problems as I am sure you are aware mainly down to the lack of minerals in our diets today. Have a look at our web site Probiotics Supplements | HeartBurn Remedies | GERD Treatment and the health concern page and you may find that our Intact Digest product is right for your mother. You can buy Intact Digest from a number of stores including Revital Health Stores
All the best
Daniel
Does she still have her gall bladder? Check with her doctor and ask questions if her gall bladder is intact.

Well excuse me for not noting the date. A kinder answer would have been more approriate if you are a professional. I can see by the dates that you don't receive much business, so I won't bother you anymore and neither will my friends when they read your comment. I'm a retired nurse of 30 years with fibromyalgia. Thought I could direct someone to a specialist or just be a good listener. I have all the 'goodies' that go with fibro. Don't worry, you won't hear from me again. Good riddance!
Ah, my apologies, it wasn't intended to be taken that way. Perhaps I should have put a 🙂 on the end of it. It's surprising how people can read things in one light, when the intention behind them was completely different.
I was simply pointing out that this is an old thread, and the original poster actually hasn't been around here for 3 years, so is unlikely to answer you.
(and just for the record it's not my business - I simply volunteer to help moderate the community)
Please don't take it the wrong way... we really are a lovely bunch on here. 🙂

I have FM too, and I was pleased that someone new had actually posted at all. As Energylz - Giles - also known as the Moody-rator says we are a nice bunch, please stick around, with the new board layout it is very hard to notice the posting date, its not very obvious is it.
Would love to share notes about FM over in that section 🙂
* Moody Rator, because I rate moods, not because I'm moody. 😀
