I'm prone to reflux sometimes (usually after a heavy meal at night) and also get heartburn (I take Gaviscon which helps) But I'm finding that after an evening on the booze (I love wine) I find the next day I get a burning sensation in my chest (like heartburn) whenever I eat anything. I'm concerning this might be an ulcer or something?
Go and see your GP for a full examination.

Jabba is right you need to see your GP. If you were a customer in a pharmacy where I was the pharmacist that is exactly what I would be suggesting. I would also be suggesting that since you have identified a very obvious cause , you have a very obvious immediate solution. If you DO have an ulcer while it can these days be treated very easily, you will still be advised to moderate your drinking.
Hallo Foxylady67
Why you treat your body like that? It is obvious that your body is complaining but you do not listen!
Having heavy meals at night is the worst thing you can possibly do to your digestive system - heartburns or reflux are very mild symptoms compared to the punishment you put your system through!
Anyway, go and see your GP and get a full check up. In the meantime:
1. Stop late meals
2. Chew very very very well!
3. Moderate the booze.
It really doesn't matter whether it is ulcer or anything else. The point is that if you keep on abusing your self with dietary infractions, sooner or later you will experience more minor or major symptoms. A wise man once said:
"if you want to see how you will look like in the future, see what you eat today!
