Morning all,

Well the children have been under the weather all week, and yesterday the were feeling better and I thought yipeeee back to school!!!!
Well this morning my son got up and I asked him if he felt well enough to go to school, and he said he felt much better, so I began "the getting ready for school routine" which is when I discovered tiny little blisters on his chest[:o].
I did the usual checks..... NHS direct and all that, and he has chicken pox!!!! cant go back to school for 5 more days, despite feeling fine!
I know he is the poorly one but I am feeling all sorry for myself[&o] He has only recently started going to school, and I was enjoying the time to myself,
very selfish I know, but it has been along time since I had any time to myself.
If you feel like dishing out a whole skip load of sympathy..... feel free:)
yours sulkily:(

RE: The dreaded pox

Oh Donna, I do sympathise. I remember when my two had it, the oldest just recovered when the younger one went down with it.

Get some bicarb to put in the bath and add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil. Also some calamine with a drop or two or lavender and chamomile oils added will give them some relief.

Afterwards, some aloe vera gel will prevent the scarring.

RE: The dreaded pox

I can fully sympathise with you Donna, I had three weeks of it when one of mine, then the other went down with chickenpox.

On the other hand I also had lots of visitors during that time. My eldest was at playgroup and my youngest about 18 months at the time and it was amazing how many people wanted their kids to have it before they started school, went on holiday etc. Ended up having several 'chickpox parties' and managed to infect the entire playgroup within a fortnight!!! Perhaps you could find some like-minded people to come and join you and relieve the boredom.

Hiya Taz,

Had good fun with your jokes earlier:D

I went to loads of those chicken pox parties last summer!!!!!! I thought if they can just get it over and done with....... no such luck! Now all the people that might have come round before dont need to, and are loving the freedom as thier children have just started school/nursery!!!! Life can be sooooo cruel at times[&o]
Never mind.............I was trying to do a positive thought thing then, but cant think of one[sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=rollaugh.gif]
