Hi folks
I'm doing some research into children and complementary therapies and am looking for case studies or just general background info. If you have any experience in this area or know of therapies that work well with particular conditions I'd be delighted to hear from you, either on here or PM if it's sensitive.
Many thanks
Bonnie
RE: Children wanted
I recommend reiki for 'growing pains', its how we 'cope' with our daughters This might be a good one to look at especially as there are a lot of doctors who dispute 'growing pains' exists - I remember mine and most people you talk to do!
Just a suggestion.

Not sure if this is any help but i have tried the omega fish oils for my dyslexic son. His appetite has improved drastically and his temperement has calmed down unbelievably. Would def recommend for over active children and too improve concentration.

RE: Children wanted
Hi, I used cranial osteopathy for two of my children who suffered from severe colic type symptoms and found it hugely beneficial. The first one I didn't find out about it until he was 7 weeks old, but even after the first session I noticed a huge calmness after which was rare for him and he was able to sleep for more than a couple of hours. I also used homeopathy which helped with my eldest who had the same problem. The health visitos always said there wasn't a problem as did a consultant who no longer would see us after I mentioned alternative therapies. He suggested that I was unable to feed my son adequately, and my milk lacked quality but I went on breast feeding until he was 2. By the time I had my third son I knew that they were allergic to cows milk and wheat and had a very basic diet, so took him in the first 3 days to a cranial osteopath to relieve any pressure from birth, then when he was 12 weeks I took him to remedial person who worked on unblocking him. That was amazing after each treatment he came out in bad rashes as the toxins were released and the improvement was noticeable each week as he settled more he began to gain weight. All three of my boys are now healthy full of energy and active children. Different from the prognosis of the health visitor who said that I was starving them and risking heart disease and brain damage because I wouldn't put them on the bottle to increase their weight. If you want any more info glad to give it.

RE: Children wanted
My son has ADHD. So far we have tried:
omega 3 oils - seen a little improvement but it took about 4 months. We stopped that to do DDAT and children can't take omega 3 oils and do this exercise regime.
DDAT - saw some improvement but after a year we were convinced that it wasn't helping his ADHD so stopped that.
We are looking at food intolerance at the moment and wondering about york test labs.
He is under Gt Ormond St and they say none of these things help but we live in hope!
RE: Children wanted
How about something like Baby Massage that encourages parents to connect with their children? I practiced massage at my friend's make up party and her 6 year old and his 8 year old friend wanted me to practice on them, so I did with parental permission and they loved it!
I hear massage is quite soothing for children with autism, so that may be another field worth investigating.
