Saw this on the BBC Local News this afternoon.
Another child strangled by a blind cord. So sad.
An unpleasant topic, but one which every parent and grandparent of a young child needs to be made aware of:

What a tragedy. Awareness is cital - blinds with these sort of looped cords should never be put into a child's bedroom or indeed any house with small children.
Quite right. You wouldn't think that something so apparently innocuous could pose such a danger to a young child, but it does.
Awareness of the problem is vital. I only wish the national newspapers would pick up on it and highlight the issue on a national level.
I had to buy blinds last year and a lot of them now have child-friendly mechanisms to protect from this sort of accident.
Sad indeed.
