Hi There,
In June my daughter started to get stiffness in her fingers - it got to the point where she couldn't hold a spoon or fasten her buttons and she had difficulty writing at school. As the day wore on the stiffness would disappear. As soon as the weather warmed up the symptoms went and she was free from stiffness for 8 weeks. When she went back to school in September she was also fine until the weather turned really cold and now we find ourself in the position where once a week she has stiffness in her back and feet in the morning and cannot get out of bed for at least an hour and it takes up to 3 hours before she can walk on her feet. The following day her hands will feel stiff but no-where near as bad as before.
We have been told its not Arthritis as there is no inflammation in her blood and to go back to her GP if it gets anyworse ! this was from a specialist at an NHS hospital.
I have seen a homeopath who has diagnosed Leaky Gut Syndrome and with her advice and by taking supplements her hand stiffness has improved by 70%.
I have had to collect her from school today because she couldnt apply any pressure to the soles of her feet - on this occasion her back and fingers are fine !
I feel a bit lost and wonder if anyone has been through anything similar or has any advice ..
Many Thanks
Vicky 🙂
Hi Selenegreen
I wondered how your daughter is. My eldest daughter has inflammation arthritis she is 23 and has had this since she was 17.My youngest daughter who is 17 has started to get pain and stiffness in her fingers.
My eldest daughter was on medication then she decided to stop. She, also like your daughter has had a lot of pain in her feet. If we so much as touch her feet. She yelps! in pain. She also has trouble walking sometimes. The pain is there even when she is sitting down.
Just recently I read a book called Slim For Life by Jason Vale. In there he tells you about food that is not good for us. As well as talking about juicing raw veg. This book has got me really hooked.
One of the things he tells you about is how bad sugar is. Which I think most people know. Well I have cut out a lot of sugar since reading this book.My daughters are cutting down, and hopefully out. But why I am telling you this. Is that since my eldest daughter has cut down on sugar and chocolate. Which she ate a LOT of. She says her fingers and feet are not hurting so much.We are also trying to cut down on dairy and bread.
Now hopefully, this is because of what she is now trying NOT to eat. I have also just brought a juicer to juice raw veg.Which so far the juices have been nice. Which has quite surprised me.
I will let you know how we get on.We have only started this cutting down in the last couple of months. So time will tell.
I dont know whether this helps. But I thought I would just tell you. Just incase it does.
Best wishes
Sunrise
I have been given that blood test (CRP) that supposedly looks for inflammation. It is always negative! BHut I have had an operation on my knee because of the arthritis and will in due course end up with a replacement. I have also had mri's and they show a lot of inflammation so don't listen to the blood test, if you research it you will see that the body is capable of adjusting to the inflammation and so produces a negative result.
I hope your daughter is feeling ok, but I would persevere and get a specialist referral, it's not right that you have been left.
