Hi,
I am enquiring if anyone can recommend anything to boost a baby's immune system. My neice is 7mths and has started in creche. Since then she has has a few sniffles but now she has a full blown head cold and is very upset and unsettled. I was wondering if her immune system could be boosted to help her to fight the little bugs in the creche. Just not sure what remedies are safe on babies.

Hello Jungdreamer

I'm sorry to hear that your niece is poorly. You know babies will get on average 7 colds by the time they are one year old! Poor mites it just doesn't seem fair but it's nature and this is how they build their little immune systems. Unfortunately i don't know of anything in particular, I just made sure that my little one had a good balanced diet and she was/still is a fantastic eater so that helps. Childrens Obus Oil at night helps and Calpol do a night light with a substance to help them breath.

Hope she feels better soon.

Children's immune booster

Well I am a Mum that started a business about this! However our immune supplements are really for ages 4+ (they contain bee propolis, black elderberry extract etc..). I think you should look into Sambucol syrup to see if babies can take it (Black Elderberry Extract), it is really gentle and effective. Zinc and vitamin C is also helpful. I think echinacea might be ok for little ones too. You may want to google that.

If you have children 4+ you can have a look here, we launch next week at the Natural and Organic Products fair in London and will be selling in stores and online from Mid April.

All of our products contain bee ingredients so we are also trying to raise awareness about the declining honeybee population!
