Hi, i have a few questions on cancer that i would like to seek information on, from you people. Please feel free to reply any answers or opinions you may have on the following topics:
1) What is immunotherapy? How does it really work? Is it for reducing the possibility of cancer or to help patients recover from cancer? Does it really work? What's the percentage of it being a successful therapy and which country is it mostly practised in? Does Singapore use it?
2)For cervical cancer, how many vaccines have been developed against it? So far i have only news that there is only one that has been approved in 2006. Till now, are there any more vaccines that have been proved successful?
3)I read that eating certain types of food such as raw but not cooked cruciferous vegetables could reduce the possibility of cancer or prevent cancer. Are there any other proven food that could also result in the same effects?
Thanks alot, please reply if you have any knowledge on any of the above topics.=)
Hi carmenho89
I have a pdf book (Cancer secrets that work) that you may find interesting if you PM me with your email I will send it to you.
hi
Do you mind typing in some of the information to my questions because it is part of my assignment and i have to print it out. Thanks
Have you done any research on the questions yourself? Why not put here what your answers and opinions might be, and we could discuss it - otherwise, it looks like you want us to write your assignment for you.
Some of the questions could be answered many different ways. You could start by searching for articles on the internet about cervical cancer treatment and vaccines. Same with the question on foods - this can be quite subjective, as my mother ate organic home grown food for most of her life, ate red meat occasionally and fish so often she practically developed gills, but cancer killed her.
What course are you doing, or are these questions just for your own interest?
hi, it's for my research
i found that "Tumor immunotherapy is an anticancer approach in which the patient’s immune system is either prodded or cajoled to fight tumors" but i do not understand the meaning of it.As in what is immune system defined in? Also does Singpore practice it?i don't think so, right? So does anticancer means prevent cancer or cure cancer?i believe it is the former?
"GardasilR, the first vaccine developed to prevent cervical cancer and other diseases caused by certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV)." i have not come across any other new vaccines that are approved from the newspaper but have it been announced in any organisation or news?
"diets full of raw vegetables especially broccoli sprouts and black raspberries could prevent or slow the growth of some common forms of cancer. Consumption of raw, but not cooked, cruciferous vegetables and reduction of bladder cancer risk." Do you think its true? that's what people always say but does it work for everyone?i don't think so right
Thanks alot

1- mmunity is a medical term that describes a state of having sufficient biological defenses to avoid infection, disease, or other unwanted biological invasion. Immunity involves both specific and non-specific components. ...immunity relates to blood and organs of body.
2- Sorry...try google search
3- Sure foods can prevent diseases and cancers but it is necessary to learn which diets can prevent which cancer....as cancer has many different types.
Been there, done that !
Hi carmenho! I am certainly no expert in the field of cancer, but I'll gladly share what I've experienced since I was diagnosed in February 2005. I think a healthy diet with great emphasis on fruits and vegetables is a great start towards health whether you have cancer or not. Tumors are merely a symptom of cancer, they aren't the cancer. Shrinking a tumor is as helpful as putting plugs in your nose to prevent it from running due to a cold-the cold is still there, but since we are mostly treated by orthodox medicine which addresses symptoms only, for the most part, we are conditioned to look for symptomatic relief. Tumors are the outward sign of the proliferation of cancer-the build up of dead cells. Yes, there are many kinds of cancer, but I feel that they will all respond to many of the same basic methods that I and others have been using for the past years. If one waits for "the cure" from orthodox medicine, one will be waiting for a very long time........
