My Mum was diagnosed about 5 weeks ago with a rare form of Leukemia and has been having chemo 🙁 (Plus so many pills to keep her 'well') for about a month now. She had zero immune system (Though before she was diagnosed she just had severe, prolonged nosebleeds, but NO infections!!) and so, is also being given constant antibiotics, 🙁 anti fungals and other pills/injections that I don't know about. She goes to hospital about 3 or 4 times a week for chemo and other stuff and has just been kept in for a couple of days as she developed a bad mouth infection and had high blood pressure (All as a result of the 'treatment' she is on!).

I have tried to tell her and my family (Who are doing most of the looking after Mum at home/taking to and from hospital etc, as I don't have transport) that there are so many natural cures and that she should, even if she wants to stick with the 'trusted' conventional 'treatments', at least be taking in excellent nutrition at ALL times and VERY importantly, taking probiotics to counteract the harmful effects of the antibiotics and to replace the beneficial bacteria which is being destroyed by them. 🙁 BUT she has been given a list of foods she shouldn't eat, due to her having no immune system and the high probability of her getting an infection and on the list of foods to avoid, is good bacteria containing foods!!!!

So basically, she is eating 'some' healthy foods, but she's not replacing the good bacteria, which is SO important and because now the chemo is making her lose her appetite, we (The family) have been told that if she gets hungry, we should let her eat whatever she fancies, even sweet sugary puddings/cakes etc (And we all know sugar feeds cancer and knocks the immune system to hell!!). But I am the only one who is aware of all this, well the others are slightly aware, but they are just following the advice of the "amazing professionals who know what they are talking about"! o_O

I have been told also, that Mum is on this new trail and is being monitored closely and if anything shows up in her bloodstream that 'shouldn't be there' (Whatever that is), then she will be taken off of the trial and all treatment will be stopped!!! 😡 So this is a very frustrating time for me, knowing what I know, about how chemo not only kills the cancer cells, but also destroys healthy ones too and that it can make cancers come back more aggressively. Antibiotics are anti life and do so much harm and you NEED to take in beneficial bacteria if you HAVE to take them! Plus the fact that there are so many natural CURES that really work.

It's just awful watching Mum go through all this and not being able to help. 🙁

I've just had some good news though, from my sister. She said that Mum's blood count is up and she is doing much better, though they won't know for sure until she has her bone marrow test next week.

So, maybe some cancers are cured with conventional treatments and people do go on to stay well for a good many years after, without the cancer returning?? I've not had any personal experience of that happening before, so I don't know.

I would say that most people go the conventional route - and many are well for years. Personally I would want to use shamanism, but everyone must be free to make their own choices - including your mother.

Professionals DO know what they are talking about - and professionals include people like nutritionists, and complementary therapy practitioners. I use reiki to support patients going through chemotherapy.

If you ever want any information on your mothers meds I am a pharmacist and I still work in oncology so I do still know about chemo drugs and definitely know a fair bit about a lot of the support meds your Mum will be on. Do feel free to pm me

There's many aspects to cancer healthcare that go beyond chemo and treatment. It sounds like you are giving her all the support you can give, but you should stick with the work of the professionals and if you are still concerned, why not talk to the various people conducting her treatment to see if there's any alternative.

As it encourages in many different types of specialized healthcare (see example), the conventional route can offer something substantial alongside alternative or nutrition / therapy based treatments. You should see the two as mutually beneficial.

I hope things get better for you and your family! Just remember, you probably help your mother more than you could possibly know 🙂

The Soursop fruit or 'Graviola' fruit as its also known is highly regarded by many as a natural cancer cure. But do your own research!
