I was reading an article about cancer in the Spirit & destiny magazine and it was talking about a treatment using mistletoe extract to shrink and kill cancerous tumours.
Basically it is administered intravenously for a period of time.
Has anyone ever heard about this and/or given it a try?
Mistletoe has been used for healing for probably thousands of years. It is also very poisonous and was no doubt kept sacred by the Druid priests to make sure it was used in the right way, and to avoid fatal poisonings. It is the Korean species, Viscum album coloratum that is used for cancer treatment, being more active at inhibiting cancer cells. European mistletoe has been used for nervous disorders and externally for dermatitis. It has also been shown to lower blood pressure.
Because it is so toxic it is NOT suitable for home remedies. See this book for more details.
Reading the article it was definitely prescribed by a medical practition so not a home remedy. I just found it interesting, because I have never heard of it before.
I think its great that herbal alternatives are being used in some cases where other medical procedures have either not worked or are not suitable for the individual.
Will have a look at the book.
Thanks 🙂
American actress Suzanne Somers famously attributed her cancer cure to mistletoe.
Likewise, sports fans will instantly recognise the name of John Edrich. The former England batsman has also attributed his cancer cure to injections of mistletoe.
