Hi peeps, I have not been on for awhile and cant spend as much time as I did before:016:.My dad was ill a while back and bleeding from his stomach so they took him into hospital and then found out after tests that he has cancer of the stomach.
I have packed up work to look after him, and taken a temperary step back from my therapy work untill dad has gone...ironically I have had more phone calls through my website than ive had before but cant do them. my other half and I already live with him so its a bit easier already being here.
It is a bit of a double or treble whammy as he has had an aortic anyurism that is inoperable and that was over 10 years and has lived with the threat of it bursting. he also has kidney failure stage 3.
His is 84 so has had a good innings and I hope he doesnt suffer too much,in fact I do pray that he goes in his sleep, and if it sounds callous its not meant to be,hes a very proud man and should die a proud man not ravaged by something he cant see or fight fairly.
I do pop in and have a look round when I get the time so I will be peeking, so to those of you who are just starting ....have faith in yourselves and always get the best advice you can,heres a very good place to start! those of you already established ...hope everything continues to reward you.Take care everyone and have a lovely summer(if the weather gets better!)

Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my mum 4 months ago after a long illness. It was so difficult watching her deteriorate so I have an idea of what you are going through. I would like to thank you for your supportive messages when I posted that my dad had cancer..sadly he has died on monday last week.His service is tomorrow where he will be cremated.It is a sad time for myself and my family,he was at home as was his wish and I will miss him terribly, I have my memories of him thankfully and am glad that he will not suffer to this cancer any longer.

It's always a hard time when we lose someone we love and I know (like many people here) what you are going through. My dad was cared for at home for 8 months before he died and even though its been 5 years, I still have the wonderful memories. In the past 5 years I have lost 3 people who were close to me and its hard...but I do believe time helps to heal.
