My father in law has been "diagnosed" with cancer. This is in inverted commas because the doctors think that he has cancer but can't do many of the tests because he has lost weight and is in his mid 70's. He lives in Ukraine and talking to my wife there they think he has liver cancer spread from another area. My wife thinks it could be his lungs although he is only showing a few of the symptoms.
Basically Ukraine does not have the best medical facilities and the doctors say they can do nothing (how true this is I am not sure - anyway who knows about Ukraine will know what I am talking about) and I am looking for alternative remedies for him. I have tried to look on the web but am overwhelmed by the number of "miracle" cures. Some of the web sites look no better than a company looking solely to make money. Please could anyone recommend anything which could help or where I could find some good, reliable information. I have found a bit about Essaic Tea and other things but I was wondering if anyone has had any good experience with alternatives.
Many thanks
 Glover.
Have you read the cancer sites on the net, they can give you some good advice. i wouldnt like to recomend anything to give him without knowing if it is cancer where it is and at what stage it was at, i would recommend you went on the cancer sites and find out from them.
take care
A herbalist spoke to me and recommended that my husband takes Essiac tea also. Before you go down this route check the cancerbacup website - Essiac tea can affect chemotherapy. I hope your father-in-law manages to find suitable care and makes a full recovery.
There are a number of charities in the UK working with complementary therapies and cancer. I used to volunteer at one in Birmingham called Freshwinds. I am not sure if there is anything like that local to your father in law for him to access, but at the center i worked at we offered aromatherapy, reflexology, hypnotherapy and reiki in a combined holistic therapy approach with the usual medical treatments.
A very useful book
Hi Glover2
I have been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (high grade and aggressive) and I have surrounded myself with positive people. One of them recommended a fabulous book called "anti cancer - a new way of life" by Dr David Servan-Schriber.
Fifteen years ago he had cancer in his brain that was initially dealt with by chemotherapy but relapsed after that. He set out to learn everything he could. He has researched cancer and its causes using his colleagues within the medical profession and has kept the cancer at bay for the last seven years!
The answer lays in a number of things: what we eat, how we think and excercise.
I went and saw a Naturopath before I read the book. She changed my diet drastically: no wheat, no dairy, no meat and most important, no SUGAR. Cancer feeds off sugar, deprive it and you begin to win.
It's been 2 months since my diagnosis and I have not received any chemo yet but after my last scan, the consultant was left scratching his head because he could not see it!
I will be having chemo next week just to kill off any cancerous cells laying low (not looking forward to losing my eyebrows though!) but I feel fantastic. Everybody who comes to see me can't believe how well I look.
I have changed my diet, lifestyle and way I think - it was hard to begin with but if you want to win, fight!
Good Luck
There are some possible sources which may be of help.
1. Dr Robert Young a US microbiologist - see - and perhaps make contact.
2. Dr. Hulda Clark - has written a few books on her alternative approach to treating and curing cancer - see .
I do NOT know from first hand information if it works, but there are many testimonials and case studies.
On balance I think the approaches by both of the Doctors above are worth considering - and trying.
You are doing all the right things, efremis-keep it up! I got a little lax, a little too sure of myself, let my guard down a bit and found my number had jumped up. A momentary setback-I am even more diligent now than at ANY time in the past 42 months. It will not happen again!
My best wishes to you!

You could try ionized water. It is considered helpful in cancer cases. There is a belief that cancer is caused by tissue toxicity; Daniel Reid, for example, explains Cancer as the "final, final stage of tissue toxicity", which is state of acidity and lack of oxygen in the cells. This is considered to be the breeding ground for cancer cells.
Alkaline ionized water provides alkalinity, cellular oxygen (as OH- ions), alkaline minerals, micro-clusters and low ORP.
The majority of people diagnosed with cancer test to be very acidic-amazing, huh? My best friends father was just diagnosed with cancer, and guess what? You're right! He's acidic! Funny that such information has been around for years, but largely suppressed. Good one, jamesk!
Yes, the key to overcoming cancer is to alkalise and oxygenate the tissues. Adopting an alkalised diet, controlling stress which can be very acidifying, and focusing on supplements that will alkalise and oxygenate is the best place to start. It is for that reason that biochemist Dr Robert Young and author of the pH Miracle range of books has reported such good success. I would suspect, although I have no proof, that that is how Essaic works against cancer. The secret is not to kill the cancer cells, just change the conditions and they will stop proliferating.
To your success
I will follow this discussion. My friend is battling cancer and we tried to find help for him along the same lines. Sadly, until he was unable to work because of the treatments, we could find no help. I hope someone here can help you.
Advice: I hope it doesn't happen, but if it does, the *moment* you become unable to work because of treatments , file for Social Security disability. Once you have qualified for that, everything else falls into place with assistance programs. (Keep the letter safe. It is very important. Everyone will ask for a copy.) Once my friend had the acceptance letter, everything else was relatively easy to get.
As to your credit, medical "hits" to your credit score are not as bad as other types of credit problems. Concentrate on recovery. You'll have to time to fix your credit later.
I am travelling to Israel for the International Symposium on Reflexology and Cancer next october. Is someone in this list coming to the event? It promises to be very good.
Love
Evelyn
