Darren had asked me to list what I thought had done the most for me in holding cancer at bay.....here we go.........

ALKALINE BLOOD

If I was to credit anything, this is what I would tell you. I've stated many of the supplements I;ve taken over the years, but I would have to say that keeping yourself in an alkaline state is probably the best advice I can give. My research has shown that cancer thrives in an acid base and that blood tests show, almost without exception, that people with cancer have acidic blood. As an interesting side note, my body does NOT dissolve 'dissolving stitches'........I have had many removed-most recently a stitch from eye surgery and before that, stitches from two leg surgeries and another eye stich. Of course, I have no proof whatsoever except for the fact of 8 1/2 years of feeling really well 🙂

Thanks for posting this. So how can we maintain an alkaline body? Presumably it would be useful for avoiding cancer in the first place. I'm thinking avoid dairy and sugar?

Darren, the majority of people eat a 80% acidic diet and 20% alkaline-REVERSE IT !!!!! Get a test kit at the pharmacy (not expensive) and check your urine on a regular basis.Chi Machine International has a nice list of alkaline/acidic foods. I don't eat a perfect diet by any means, but I do make sure my blood is alkaline. For the most part, we are what we eat-I don't believe in the 'cancer gene' flying about unabated causing this horrific disease.May we all take the journey that leads us to health.

I drove this point across to my brother-in-law a while back. We live in Florida and many, like myself, have swimming pools. He asked me what was a good level for pH balance. I told him around 7.4.....we was amazed....that's what my pool is supposed to be, he says.!!! I asked him what did the pool look like when it was out of balance-say, for instance, in the 5 range. He said it was cloudy and murky-I rest my case, Your Honor 🙂

Is this site good: Alkaline Food Chart – The Official List Of Alkaline Foods & Acidic Foods « Alkaline Foods & Alkaline Diet ?

There is one caveat: I'd rather die of cancer than eat wheatgrass. 😀

Isn't that about your gut bacteria? If you don't have bowel problems then your bacteria should be fine?

Probiotics boost your immune system-your immune system starts in your gut. A good friend was feeling poorly-got her on probiotics and in no time she was feeling tremendous. She takes them everyday, now and doesn't miss a day.

Upwards of 90% of your immune system starts in your gut-bowel health is only a part of the equation. It does so much more 🙂

It would only be contraindicated if your immune system had never been challenged and you had no outside influences attacking your immune system eg pollution, air born chemicals, etc. In our world today, I can't believe ANYONE falls into that category 🙁

Re your gut, immunity and the ability to stay well, much has been uncovered by research recently.

Through the study of the human genome it has been found that genes from our cells account for ONLY about 1% (probably less) of our gene expression and the rest comes from our gut bacteria.

This is utterly astonishing to most people including doctors, but not the biochemists, microbiologists and those decoding the many genomes. The presumption that we could use the genomic code of each person to determine our health status has turned out to be a fallacy, as they have also found that expression of those genes can be turned on or off according, as much as anything, to what we eat - ie what building blocks the body has to use to help keep us healthy.

So, we need to understand are in fact we are not just human but also what resides in our guts - normally a symbiotic relationship. If the bacterial balance is upset in any way (wrong food choices, antibiotics, pollution, foreign chemicals - ie pharmaceuticals, household cleaning agents, cosmetics, etc, etc) then the ability of the body to cope is considerably diminished and the immune system struggles to function as it should and can easily become overwhelmed, especially if the insults to the body are too much or too frequent.

Also bear in mind that many external factors are influencing us including thought - a vast number of neurones have been found in the gut and it has been named 'the second brain' for good reason, as it influences how the body can function to a major degree. The 'wrong' bacteria can influence changes and reactions in the gut and thus the whole body - bacteria are living entities too.

So, using food as Kcatdejay does to remain healthy makes perfect sense. Consuming a diet that helps the body to remain slightly alkaline, pH 7.4, and keeping up the level of beneficial bacteria in our bodies is VITAL to good health - eating rubbish feeds the 'weeds', ie unhelpful/wrong bacteria which naturally reside within us to feed off our poor food choices and they proliferate to the detriment of our beneficial bacteria. Think of your gut as a rose garden - ignore the roses and the weeds soon overwhelm them, sucking all the goodness from the soil and the roses wither and die, or become weak and fail to thrive. So it is in your gut.

Please be very aware of this and do your very best for your symbiotic body.

Thanks for the info. Will have to re-read!

So what you're saying is life is ****e? 😀

I suppose the gut is where the body absorbs nutrients so it has to be decent or else we're in trouble.

Well, some people do refere to the gut as the 'second brain'.

Many people, from what I've heard from them and personal experience, find that if, for example, they have a headache, then they can link the cause of it to stomach issues, such as something they've eaten, or a build up of wind, and once these things pass, the headach disappears.

So, the gut and brain are very closely linked in my experience.

All Love and Reiki Hugs
