I haven't had cancer, but my mother-outlaw had it as did my mum and both had reflexology treatments, they both benefited with regards energy levels and general outlook and confidence. I have also treated clients with cancer, using reflexology, with the guidance of the oncologist, as they know best which pattern to follow during treatment. To date, I haven't treated anyone, who said it didn't help at all.

My daughter had a tumour last year and had reflexology several times a month all the way through her illness, sometimes every day if she needed it. Not only did it help her relax and sleep but she didn't get any of the nasty side effects of chemo such as sickness and mouth ulcers.

My dog has had a mouth tumour and also a sinus tumour recently. I tried distant healing and her condition is very good at this time and her cancer seems to have stopped spreading, so far. I did not think of reflexology for animals. My husband also tried distant healing for a hip problem which was diagnosed as wear and tear. He is now pain free. Any alternative help is welcomed.

I didn't have reflexology when I had cancer but had it loads of times when I finished chemo and radio treatment and then when I did my own reflex course.

Never get a chance to get any now 🙁 and the once I have had it in the past 2 years I didn't think the practitioner was very good (and she talked all the way thru even tho' I was giving lots of non-verbal that I wasn't looking for conversation).

I work for a cancer charity and give regular reflexology (and aromatherapy) to cancer patients (and their families).

My clients find that the treatments help with symptoms as well as side effects of medication and chemo and also with their emotional issues. Even if they've been treated for cancer and the tumour is removed, the anxiety that many people have afterwards mustn't be underestimated. Every ache and pain is a worry, as well as the time leading up to check ups.

I've also treated people who are terminal in the last stages of cancer have had such positive feedback from them and their families.

Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton has volunteer reflexologists working in all their oncology departments as part of the charity Active LightWorks introducing therapies to the NHS. We are keeping records of feedback and so far staff and patients are delighted!
