Hi,
I am currently supporting someone who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, the biopsy will be done on tuesday but so far, we have been told that it could be genetic.
Apparently, it may be something to do with a cold sore virus...does anyone here know anything about this?
I have been doing a lot of research but haven't come up with anything, any information would help.
Thank you 🙂
Hello,
I read your message on this problem today, and I have had dealings with this illness myself.
I looked after my partner who was found to have a tumour on the brain way back in 1988 after her first child was born. She was kept well on barbiturates for years with the brain tumour staying the same size.
She was told not to have another baby, but she did try for her 2nd and sadly she died in 1992 with the 2nd, and died while giving birth.
The GP told us her tumour may have been started by a virus, we done a lot of research and found that maybe about 70% of them have been seen to start from this, plus lots of other type cancers seem to start from certain virus problems too.

Hi,
Thank you for replying.
Yes, i have researched some of the viruses but so far haven't come up with anything about a cold sore virus leading to brain tumors.
Hopefully the tumor will turn out to be benign and so will be operable.
hi.. i dont have much idea about it.. but i will try to get more information regarding these topic....
Good news
Hey all,
I have good news!
My friend's brain tumour, although this is to be confirmed by a biopsy, to be carried out very soon, is likely to be a low grade left front temperal tumour.
The person is on anti epileptic drugs which are holding the fits at bay, and is doing really well.
If it is what they suspect it to be, then it should be a benign tumour and pose no immediate harm.
My friend has a brain tumor and had radiotherapy. He had a check up 2 weeks later because he had a headache and it turns out that it was bleeding but the doctor said the bleeding is not too much and advised him to come back in two months to check up on the results of the radio surgery
To me a bleeding brain tumor sounds serious. Does anyone know if it's normal to "wait and see" in thse conditions or that small bleeding is not necessarily serious.
