Sorry if this has been asked before but I've looked through a few of the posts and havent found an answer.
I'm now starting my 3rd week off work owing to the fact I can only walk about 4-5 mtrs and that's with a stick. I'm currently waiting for a referral to the specialist as I have a prolapsed disc at L4/L5 giving me severe sciatica in my left buttock and calf.
Well, I've now noticed this evening that my left ankle and foot are swollen quite a lot. I have found it increasingly difficult to walk; almost every day it gets worse.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it usual or should I get it seen to?
many thanks
I thinhk that with any swelling in the lower limbs it pays to get it checked, but as it is the same side as the problem it does point to maybe a cause there? Can you ring your gp and ask just to be safe?
Yes I agree your GP should take a look at you. Any swelling around the lower limbs should always be checked out. Hope your foot and ankle feel better soon !
Thanks both. Fortunately the swelling seemed to just disappear the following day, but if it happens again, I'll let the doctor know.
