I am feeling very nervous this morning as I have a council official coming in half an hour to see if we are entitled to a grant to put in a stairlift, turn the bathroom into a wet room and put a ramp up to the front door. I did apply last year but as hubby was working then we got turned down. However as he is now my full time carer both occupational health and me are very hopeful. It will make such a huge difference to me so I really hope we get the go ahead. I know we won't get an answer today but hopefully it won't be too much longer.

hi wend, hope you're feeling a bit better, i sent you another message a couple of days ago, hope you got it. i really hope you get your grant for your alterations, you deserve it. they should'nt have turned you down last time:(, its ridiculous!. our councils waste enough money on rubbish such as paving our town centres and driving shop customers away:mad:! good luck!!!:)

Hi Daveyam

The grant officer said yes 😀 I am so happy, I will now get my stairlift, my bathroom altered to a wet room and a ramp put outside the house. I find it funny now that at 44 I am so excited about a stairlift, this time five years ago I was still enjoying hitting the town, dancing, singing and drinking. Now no dancing or drinking at all, but nobody will stop me singing 🙂

I did get your last message and I am sorry I didn't reply, I have been feeling pretty rotten with stomach pains for the last couple of weeks so don't always check in. Saw GP yesterday as I have lost a stone and a half in two weeks and he thinks I have gallstones. He gave me buscopan to help with the pain and finally today I am feeling a bit better. Hubby and me just laugh now as it seems to be one thing after another, but I won't bore you with that. Just waiting for a scan now to see what's going on. Still at least I lost some of the weight I have put on since hurting my back, although it is a horrible way to lose it.

Anyway how are things with you?

Take care,

Wend x

great news!

hi wend, great news that the grant officer has agreed to help you with your alterations to help you with your needs:). i was like you a while ago, like you said about going out for drinks etc, i love kareoke and i love to sing, 70s stuff like the eagles, bread, and my all time fave group, queen!, i've been collecting their stuff for almost 40 years!. i also like sinhing some elvis stuff. sorry you've not been feeling well with your stomach pains, thats a lot of weight to lose in 2 weeks!. i'm not to bad, but if you look on clare's thread you can read how i've been messed about waiting for my mylegram . what is it about gp's, surgeons and waiting times when it comes to bad backs?.i just don't get it.
take care, daveyam xxx:)
