Hi all,
This is my very first post! I have been suffering from severe pain on my lower left side of my back for roughly 4-5 years. I've had e fewsessions of osteopathy andphysio, which unfortunately hasn't really helped and also a x-ray about 5 yrs ago.
I'm currently on 150mg a day of Diclofenac which has been has been a god send - can anyone explain why this has been so effective?
I've been to my GP soooo many times with my back that in the past, that I feel I'm just I'm just a nuisance, so I don't like to bother her........[&o]

RE: Chronic left sided lower back pain!
[sm=hug.gif]Hello hb,
Firstly diclofenic. is a slow releasing anti inflamitery so that would sugest the gp is thinking along the lines of some kind of inflamation,
have you tried spiritual healing? this can be very affective, without seeing you i cant be more precise, i am not a doctor, but i am a healer who can see into the body whilst i am healing.i think you have twisted your side and your muscles are contracting, i would ask for a second opinion if you dont get any joy, and look for a spiritulist churc near you where they do healing,
good luck. take care
RE: Chronic left sided lower back pain!
Hi hb
I was just wondering if the Diclofenac gave you any side effects ? I recently had facet joint injections into my lower back (four of em) which were incredibly painful and unfortunately pain only went away for a few weeks so I am now about to embark on 10 private physio sessions, I have used nhs physio before and it was no good, I am assured that this will be better! In the mean time I asked the consultant is there is something stronger that my doctor can prescribe to me for the days when it's unbearable and I think he mentioned Diclofenac. I am not one for 'living on' painkillers, I will only take them when the pain gets really bad but sometimes I can immagine it being nice to feel no pain for a change..

RE: Chronic left sided lower back pain!
Hi Blackcrow,
Thank you for your reply 🙂
I've not tried spiritual healing but it's something to think about as I don't really want to be taking painkillers forever! Have got an appointment in July to see specialist and hopefully an MRI so I may find out exactly what's going on ....
:-))
RE: Chronic left sided lower back pain!
Hi Susan
I only had a few side effects when I first started taking them...mainly a stomach upset, which has eased now,but I've been told to take them regularily to "get on top of the pain". My GP prescribed them for me end of march and I was told I could take them until end of May!!!!
Since I've been on them I've been able to stand for longer than 10mins, andget up in the morning and straighten up, and actually not be aware ofpain!
I don't envisage these being a cure but more of a mask until I find out what's wrong with my back .....(consultant appointment July)
I hope this has been of some use:-)

Does your left leg look longer? The pain is usually at the functionallylonger leg side.
