In April last year, I had severe pain in the lower part of the back and pain down my right leg. On the floor for 10 days !!!
The Doctor prescribed me Diazipan and Codeine, the pain eased of slightly. However the pain shifted from my right leg to my left leg.
Having tried physiotherapy, aswell as acupuncture. Its now January and 10 months on and the pain is still severe at the lower part of my back and down my left leg. Particular my left knee area. I am now getting severe pain and spasms in the middle of my back.
The physio has said it's a prolapsed disc L5-S1. I am on the sick at work due to this.
I am doing all the exercises that the physio has advised me to do, but still not getting any better. Some days the pain is unbearable.
At the moment I'm taking Amitriptyline, Codeine & tramadol medication.
I have an appointment next week at the Musculoskeletal Unit at my local Hospital.
If anyone can give me any advice on what these Specialists do, it would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Hi bowman, i cant comment on any of the medication you are taking but when i was younger i had to go to the muscular skeletal unit at my local hospital. Obviously all are different but the guys that treated me were great. I wouldnt be apprehensive about it at all.
