Given the heightened public awareness of autism, given the apparent increase in the number of kids displaying behaviour on the spectrum, given the desire to help in some way, I find it surprising that there are so few threads and especially so few recent ones.

Perhaps there's another website that's attracting members?

Possibly the parents of such children don;t feel they will find much help here. If I was the parent of such a child I wouldn't expect a website called 'healthy pages' to offer much. They are a special group of people who need special management.....and a very general website like this wouldn't seem to be useful.

Plus help is normally available free on the NHS and any complementary therapies will have to be paid for....and that would be a huge issue for some families.

And there are many people with Asperger's who do not consider this to be a problem and therefore do not require help.

I suppose it's only those who don't use this forum, but who do have kids experiencing difficulties, that could explain why they don't use it. And, of course, they may not be present elsewhere on this website to see this thread anyway.... Asperger's is just one aspect of the autistic spectrum.

Maybe forums are simply going out of fashion generally? I can see that the title 'Healthy Pages' might not catch the eye of someone looking for help in this respect.

I've not been here for few years now, been off exploring life and their always a right time to come back, my son Joshua I wrote quite a lot about On Healthy Pages as he has Asperger's Syndrome. Joshua has just turn 17 years old. He was taken out of school at 14 years old due to being bullied and no support, he was very happy being home schooled by my brother-in -law, who got him through so much, this is because my sister daughter has 3 autistic children and my brother-in-law has been brilliant helping them all, he studied in great length about these special kids. Joshua was taken to local collage for about 6 month on and off to see if he could cope, he was all sign up for collage, but sadly on the day he was meant to start was let down as no one was there for him on the day, the experience broke his heart and mine, now to cut long story short, Joshua is home doing Level 3 web design and he had 10 assignment which meant to take a year to do, but Joshua is on assignment 6 already. So his future looks very bright, although Joshua dose not go out very much and not good in social situation, he very happy and so am I.
Love And Blessings xx

That's great to hear lightwinds, I'm glad Josh was able to find something that made him happy, it's a shame that many others are left behind or let down.
