Hi all,
I have been researching the GAPS (Gut & Psychology Syndrome) diet which looks amazing for people with gut disorders, (esp where related to ADHD spectrum disorders). My son has had a bad gut for 18 months and am thinking of trying this, as we've tried many other things.

Just wondered if anyone else has managed the diet, and how they cope with kids going to school, pack lunches and the like?

I only have one question after browsing several pages on that site: what is the GAPS diet? They've missed that basic FAQ out!

I'm seeing words on the pages that make me think it's just a balanced diet.

It's a bit more extreme than balanced diet.. mostly involving broths with bone marrow and introduction of safe foods (one tested) back into the system.

A friend has been doing it and swears by it.

Scroll down the page here and it will give you an example of the introduction diet:

I see what you mean. Apart from something about prebiotic food (which sounds like they're selling something), it seems ok (ok in the sense that I don't see the problem with eating stock made from bones but that might be my own weird dietary intake of late 😀 ).
