I have a lot of friends and family members with arthritic problems. The usual treatment in UK is to stone the sufferer with pain killers more and more. One of them was recently suggested morphine by her doctor!

Surely, such practices are not combatting this crippling disease but making it worst for the sufferer in the long run.

Does anyone know of any new or alternative treatments to combat different forms of arthritis?

Hi , something different to think of, I am a practitioner of Thought Pattern Management (TPM). I have had good results with arthritus using TPM. On most clients the pain goe's instantly, the odd one or two may just feel a niggle instead of the agonising pain so it may need one or two sessions. Just a thought 🙂

Have a good one

Thanks for all the advice, but does anyone know of any surgical cures. My x-wife, who suffers greatly from this at a relatively young age, insists that they can implant artificial joints in fingers and in arms. If that is the case; expensive but may well worth it to get rid of the pain once and for all!

Do you know of anyone who actually had such an operation?

Yes I know of joint replacements - I know a woman who had finger joints done about 10 yaers ago (had bad rheumatoid arthritis from a relatively young age and is now 40 something) The replacement joints have now deteriorated so badly that there's nothing to be seen on xray where bones and joints once were and she's having to wear support splints all day now to carry out basic day to day activities.

I would definately look into the dietry advice and herbal remedies - surgery IS NOT an easy quick fix option!!!

Nettle tea, I might get my husband to try it. He has Ankylosing Spondylitis, and has tried so many different things to ease his pain. He also uses magnetic therapy, but not sure if or how much it helps. I guess different things work for different people and different areas with arthritis.

My husband has AS and swears by cod liver oil. He has been taking it for about 33 years now, he is 63 and three months after he started the back pain went away. I won't say he never has a little back pain but it is nothing to how he was before taking the oil. He always take the oil and not capsules.

I had a pain in my knee for 8 months and on recommendation took Noni juice within 2 weeks the pain had gone.

Hubby also had similar trouble with his knee and found this cured it.

I'd recommend Rhus Tox. A Homeopathic remedy, brilliant for arthritis, in my family this has helped a grandma, a horse and a dog over the last 10 years or so.

One interesting way for treating Arthritis is with an Emu Oil.

An Emu produces an oil (called "Emu Oil") used by many people around the world as a way to deal with joint pain.

Modern scientific studies from around the world confirm Emu oil naturally contains high levels of linolenic acid (a substance known to ease muscle aches and joint pain including arthritis)... and... oleic acid which provides a local anti-inflammatory effect.

It can reduce pain, swelling and stiffness most evident where the joint is close to the skin surface: hands, feet, knees, elbows.

As far as everything I have read over the last number of years the main contributor to arthritis is an acidic lifestyle. So rather than just deal with the symptoms it is necessary to address the underlying cause. Changing diet to a diet which is high in alkalising residue foods, reducing stress (a major contributor to acidity) and looking at underlying issues such as candida, another acid causer, will help to address theproblem. Many leading researchers have concluded that the body will do all within its power to maintain blood pH at the optimum level and if there is a lack of alkaline minerals to do so it will strip calcium from bones or magnesium from muscles etcto do so. It is a survival mechanism. So we end up with problems such as arthritis and osteoporosis. Pain Killers only compound the problem in that they add to the acidic load on the body.

😮

I have a friend who has R Arthritis and it took him about a month following a strict regime before he experienced improvements. I suppose there is not much medical science to really prove it but I do believe that the human body can cure most of the diseases it caught. What he did was . .

1. He went on to a relatively "meat free" diet, cutting off beef, pork, etc and only limiting himself to fish.
2. He took relative large quantities of raw honey, mangosteen juice and distilled water
3. He started on a regime of light exercises, including "chi breathing exercises".
4.He has since cut off coffee (he drinks about 6-8 cups a day)

I told him he has to do it for 3 months, but since a month now, he has shown much improvement. Very ironically, people with arthritis problem tend not to exercise, but in order to fight it, you need to exercise and keep your joints moving.

I treat rheumatoid arthritis with a specialised form of EFT that we use in our clinic. Rheumatoid arthritis only means that your body has the ability to make a certain type of molecule which leads to your joints degenerating. It does not mean that you have to produce these molecules nor that their production is beyond your control.

Might not have read some of the posts on this thread but treatment for arthritis can be different according to which sort it is! - there can be a lot of degeneration of bone etc in osteo-arthritis for example, and if this is really advanced, surgery to replace the joint might be the only long term answer.

Have seen arnica gel mentioned which might be useful- also rhus tox cream (another homeopathic preparation) might also be good, especially if you get stiff and pain's worse when you first start moving after sitting etc. These remedies also come in the form of pills that you can buy in chemists/health food shops.
Or homeopathy with a professional homeopath -who has a larger choice of remedies- can be very successful in pain management-and sometimes longterm improvement. HTH Hom

I meant to add Glucosamine is the best for aches and pains, either in tablet or gel form, both for maximum effect.

I gave the quantum power chip to my mother 3 months ago, she had terrible arthritus in her hips and couldn't move without pain, she lived on a diet of ibufen and would still wake up even after taking sleeping tablets at night. It took 3 days for her pain to completely go, wearing the chip day and night, and she hasn't taken it off ever since. She is pain free and moves about a lot more than she ever did, just one thing seems to aggrovate her now, and it happens when she insists on eating tomatoes.

Artrosilium (organic silicium) is pretty amazing, not a cure in itself but used as a relief. It comes in a form of a gel and should be applied about 3 times a day. Relief happens after a few days. I have tried it myself. Can be bought on line:
Best wishes
