Can a female have arthritis at age 25?
yes; regardless of age or gender. Can be many types of arthritis. Even Osteo Arthritis can hit children under 10yoa (JOA).
I would expect a causative factor though; such as past trauma if you're talking about DJD (AKA osteoarthritis). There are many other types of arthritis though, with different target ages for each of them.
It is possible to have arthritis at just about any age!
yep they can i am 25 have it in my hip and my parterns 28 and he has it in all of his back

yes. Check out your diet - do a little research regarding anti-inflamitory foods that are good for arthritis. Avoid over processed foods, cut back on meat, eat more raw veggies & grains. Also check into taking enzymes - papaya & pineapple enzymes are always good to take.
My Mum keeps getting shooting pains up the right side of her neck this gives her bad headaches, makes her dizzy & her eye on the right side goes blurred & in her words wobbly.
The Doctor just keeps telling her to take the tablets & co-codamol.
I have told her to ask for a C.T scan, she can afford to pay for it,
but I do not know if this will reveal anything because at the end of the day I am only guessing.

I'd ask her doctor to do a blood pressure test, and definitely send her for a scan. If she is getting symptoms on one side of the body only and losing balance she could be having TIAs or mini strokes.
Hi sounds like you r mum is getting Migraine.
i also suffer in that way visual disturbances slurred speech and some weakness down one side.
it can be very frightening when it happens I have had a ct scan whcih gave me the diagnosis.
Sadly yes. Ive just turned 23 and have it quite badly in a number of joints. It started when i was 16. At the moment i need a hip replacment but am obviously too young. Have you been to see ur dr about it? He/She will be able to refer you to a rheumatologist
So what are the problems with your health?
Arthritis at least is not incurable.

Hi marrybruce
Sorry to hear about your problems, however there is a tried and trusted cure which has been around in India for centuries and that is turmeric powder. It was first described in the Ayurveda thousands of years ago and has numerous health benefits.
It cures arthritis in 90% of cases. The active compound is curcumin which gives turmeric its yellow colour. Take a level teaspoon twice a day, either in a Little hot milk with honey or even in your food (such as scrambled eggs). Curcumin is fat soluble so you will get maximum effect when it is taken in food.
Most curries have turmeric in them and accounts for the low preponderance of arthritis in those who regularly take turmeric in their food.
There are few contraindications, however it does have blood thinning properties so avoid taking it with aspirin etc.
This link gives you further information and just 'google' curcumin and arthritis and you will have a plethora of purported benefits.
Keep at it for four to eight weeks and let us know how you get on.
Best wishes

a cure? for arthritis? that's 2 claims for that now; and yet neither come from the richest people in the world - and trust me, whoever finds a "cure" for arthritis will make Bill Gates look like an abject pauper!
You may have options that can reduce symptomatology, but there is no cure. Any claims that there are cures are unethical (IMO, extremely so); just like "cures" for cancer.
I'd also be interested to know which type(s) of arthritis these "cures" work on.
While the Moderating Team appreciate your reply to marrybruce Chankya01, we do however need to err on the side of caution regarding your claim of a cure for arthiritis and also mention two things:
Firstly, we strongly advise members to seek medical treatment from their own GP's, and secondly, the last time marrybruce posted on the forums was in October 2007.:)

I am indebted to you for your intervention and I reiterate your caveat not to proceed with any treatment prior to discussing it with your GP.
I did not wish to mislead any member of the forum by suggesting that curcumin could 'cure' arthritis, however if taken in the early stages (as I presume for marrybruce being 25 years old) I would assert that it gives considerable relief to certain kinds of rheumatoid arthritis.
As you and the other moderators will be aware of my authoritative background in this field, perhaps a standard disclosure statement should be given for all the remedies other members suggest.

To expand on this post...
The active ingredient in black pepper, called piperine, significantly increases the absorption of tumeric in the body. To be absorbed, tumeric has to be filtered by the liver.
Hope this helps.
I am waiting for a third meeting with the rheumatologist to give his verdict, I have a tight painful feeling in my hands, I find it difficult writing essays for my course, can mange half a page, they really hurt if its cold. The reason I saw him and he ordered MRI,bone density, full x ray etc was my left tibia! not the right, I have an ache a lot during the day, at night its waking me often. I came on the forum to ask if there was anything that would ease it, someone told me about tumeric, ginger is good as well. Any thoughts?

Noni works wonder for my Arthritis.
Sorry guys, but I don't accept the word "cure" when you are talking about arthritis. I'll wholly accept the words alleiviate and help, but not cure.
Yes, it is entirely possible for someone to have arthritis at 25 years old. It's possible to have it as a child.

Hi Simon...
I don't know if you have heard about Ayurveda, which is a complete herbal medicine from the Indian subcontinent, and a sister science to Yoga.
It has a holistic approach of Diet and Lifestyle recommendations, Yoga, Herbal remedies, Massage based treatments and Detoxification towards any health ailment including Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia.
With the same approach I have been practicing for the last 10 years in India , Maldives and know for the last 2 years in UK. To see one of the testimonials regarding Arthritis, from my client list, please check: <a class="go2wpf-bbcode" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href=" http://www.ayurveda-retreat.co.uk/JagrutiMistry.html "> http://www.ayurveda-retreat.co.uk/JagrutiMistry.html

Yes, it Ispossible to have arthritis at age 25
Yes, it is possible, but unlikely. Arthritis is an infection of the bone. I believe you are suffering from the No. 1 deficiency in America, dehydration. If you are not drinking enough water, your bones will dry out, along with other organs in the body causing you to have these problems. The weather changes themselves usually do not cause dehydration, but when it's cold, we tend to not drink water. You mentioned drinking coffee. This dehydrates you, just like tea and sodas.
I would suggest before running off to see a doctor or taking medications, try drinking the correct amount of water and see what happens. One quick test to determine if you are dehydrated, stand up with both arms hanging at your side; now bring your left hand up to your upper chest and hold it there against your chest; now slowly have someone raise your right arm, while keeping it straight to the level of your other hand. Examine the veins in your hand before raising and then after raising. If the veins reduce or disappear, you are dehydrated badly.
The right amount of water you should be drinking:
Take your total body weight and divide by 2. This number is the number of ounces you should be drinking everyday. If you drink coffee, tea, or sodas, you need to calculate the number of ounces in each of those you drink and add 1-1/2 times that amount of each drink to the total you should be drinking.
Your body needs 7-1/2 quarts of liquid each day to digest just 1 quart of food you eat. This liquid has to come from somewhere. If you don't have this liquid available in your body, good digestion doesn't happen. I would strongly suggest you drink "steam" distilled water each day. The NSF (National Sanitary Foundation) that regulates a lot of water treatment issues and the AMA (American Medical Association) both have made statements that says water does not provide very many minerals and that you should get your minerals from foods. When the water is distilled, your liver doesn't have to filter out a lot of garbage to produce blood.
There is no such thing as an "autoimmune" problem. The body does not attack itself. It does attack virus and bacteria. Recent research is showing that the so called autoimmune disorders are just bacteria and virus embedded in tissue. A lot of antibiotic use can cause bacteria and viruses to embed themselves deep into the tissue and then 15 to 20 years later, problems happen that no one seems to relate to taking the antibiotics.
