RE: Any help
From what I know of arthritis (I'm afraid my knowledge stems from horses but a lot of it is transferable!) it is often worse in cold and damp weather, and can be worse if under or over used, gentle exercise seems to be about the best.

RE: Any help
hi lightwinds,i have arthiritus in my hands.elbows and hip,it is very painfull, especialy when its going to rain, the blood tests will say which kind of arthiritus you have.i have rheumatoid, and then you will be given tablets, but you buy codliver oil capsules,to take one a day,to sort of oil your joints,if it is arthiritus its for life, and it can be inherited from a parent, try to move your hands as much as possible, like rolling a small ball inside your hands often, hope this helps,

RE: Any help
It sounds very like referred pain from one of the facet joints or nerve root irritation coming from your lower neck - what most GP's would call a trapped nerve.
Most probably acquired whilst extending (bending backwards) your neck whilst strawberry picking. [:@]
Wear & tear isn't necessarily painful, a proper diagnosis & if you've been told you have to live with it, then I would certainly get a second opinion. [:o]
You probably know what I 'm going to say already - see an osteopath or chiropractor. If you prefer the orthodox route, then at least see a physio or a GP that has done some post graduate study of sports medicine.
It's sounds like a very common & easily sortable problem to me & if you tell us which fingers are affected I'll even hazard a guess at which vertebral joints are causing the problem.
Andrew.

RE: Any help
Lightwinds,
I have arthritis in both shoulders and in my knuckles. I had tried everything from Glucosamin to acupuncture, nothing worked. I started doing some research and found the answer! I take collagen capsules each night before I go to bed. Within 3 months, no pain at all!!! I have no restricted movement now because of the lack of pain. I also stopped taking them because I had no pain, within 3 weeks the pain came back. I take them regularly each evening and my life has never been better. Wear and tear as I understand is the lack of collagen in the joints. A lot of medical tests have proved collagen to be the answer. Take a look at the following link, there's a lot of mumbo jumbo but it will give you the info you need. I al;so have a lot of other medical evidence to support this on my PC which I can e mail you if you want. Best of luck
RE: Any help
Hi, Sorry forgot the link. ( so you see it's great for arthritis, but useless for alzheimer's)
