Hello

I was diagnosed with several allergys when i was a child. They range from dust mites and hayfever to egg and fish allergys. Im sure ive grown out of some of these but am too scared to try things that i had such bad reactions to as a child.
My Dr has refered me to the allergy clinic but this could take years. I wouldnt be too worried, but i just feel like there is something not quite right with me at the mo. I have put lots of it down to having a toddler but i'm just not so sure now.
I feel very run down a lot of the time and almost always feel sick. My digestive system never seems to be working too well which prob doesnt help. Ive had bloods done with the Dr but everything is fine. I eat reasonably well (not perfectly but certainly nothing as bad as i used to be!) and hardly drink anymore. I am fairly active and not overweight (size 8-10).

I've been thinking of trying the testing that they do with hair or the one where you hold something and they link you with a machine (does that make sence??).

What whould you all recomend?
Thanks!

Hi, I carry out food sensitivity testing. Pleas go to my web site and see if this service is for you. Your problem may well be a poor digetive system and I have a very comprehensive test for that.

Hi

You can order a test for allergies from york tests website, theys end you all the stuff you need for a blood test, you go to your practice nurse to have the blood taken, then send it off

Breeze, the one you are talking about where you hold something attached to a machine I have had done. Its allergy testing with a German Vega Machine. When I had this done they came up with lots of allergies.

Then I had the same tests done by a Kinesiologist and they gave me the same results as the Vega Machine.

Then my immunologist at the hospital did blood tests and skin prick tests and found something completely different!!!

Either way all are painless and a good practitioner will give good advice.

Hi Breeze,

How did your testing go? I just wanted to add that if in the future you decide to do it again, and you do testing with a complementary therapist such as an Allergy Antidotes or kinesiology practitioner, you also get information about things like:

Safe de-sensitizing
What you need in your diet that your body is not absorbing
Emotional clutter that your body can be free from
Vaccines that have upset your body's balance
Metals, including heavy metals, that are upsetting your body's balance
Neurotransmitters that are not working correctly
Body organs that are not working correctly, and how to support them

I hope this helps.

Hi Breeze, I am a Kinesiologist (amongst other therapies) and so I regularly do testing with people, so as I am somewhat biased I won't comment on the various methods.

However I would say that I often see people who are feeling dreadful - tired, digestive issues (occasionally nausea too), aches and pains etc. The problem often stems from yeasts that get into the gut and other parts of the body and resulting toxicity.

The good news, for those that suffer this problem, is that it is pretty easy to fix, albeit not a quick fix solution. I recently treated a lady who has been constantly nauseous and thankfully, 5 weeks into the treatment she is already practically nausea free and is heading in the right direction. I have advised her to avoid certain foods that she is intolerant to which will also help.

By the way intolerance and allergies are quite different. Intolerances can be acquired and when the underlying cause is dealt with, hopefully can be eradicated. Tolerance levels vary from day to day depending upon how relaxed / stressed the client is.

Hope some of this is helpful to you. xx

On radio four a little while ago there was an article on allergy testing and to say the least you have to be careful who you go to. Recommendation is always the best route. Doctors will always say the blood test is right, that may be so but there are other tests like the vega test.
However it all boils down to the interpretation of the practitioner.
I recently came across an american article which suggested that allergies are stress related, your symptoms seem similar to IBS which is stress related, perhaps you could also consider the possiblity of hypnosis to reduce your internal stress levels.
The principle of this is that we react emotionally to every experience we have and this creates a flight or fight response, which in our modern world is redundant mostly. As the body cannot find an external threat it starts to treat the body as the threat and so reacts negatively.
Speaking as a Hypnotherapist I find this quite possible as most of my clients have many physical symptoms that are creaed by the mind.

Kinesologist is good i think i will go again. some years ago i went for test and i avoided wheat, cows milk for 6months i lost half stone wihtout even dieting and my tum went down( still got tum but not as fat as before). i felt great but unfortunately I gave in to temptation to sandwiches and chocolate and put weight back on and my tum got bigger so might be worth going to one.

I will look for one locally and make the effort to go and stick to it!

let us know how you get on

I can definately relate to the stress issues and intolerances. I developed chronic urticaria and idiopathic angio-oedema through stress and have been off work a long long time with it. I saw various complementary specialists who all agreed on the same thing which totally contradicted what the doctor/immunologist said!
