My eyes are sore again today, I've also had a headache. Has anyone had a similar problem and do they know if it caused by a particular pollen. I just don't know if this is an allergy or not.
RE: Sore eyes
Hi AngelFish,
Yes, it's allergy caused by tree pollen. I suffer with it also, and my eyes are red and sore as well, and my eyelids are always stuck together with 'sleep' in the mornings because of it. I have to take medication all through the Spring and Summer to counteract the sensitivity to pollen.
I have found that Opticrom (purchased from the chemist) relieves the itchyness and soreness of the condition. It bathes the eyes in soothing liquid.
Achoo!
Love,
Patsy.

RE: Sore eyes
Thanks Patsy
I've been to the GP today coz my eyes were so red this morning and I've been getting constant headaches with the sore eyes. He thinks it may be allergy related, but as always was pretty vague. I've got the Opticrom and has suggested I wash my eyes with bicarbonate of soda. He also said that he thinks the continuing redness is due to my migraines and the blood vessels not contracting.
Tx.
RE: Sore eyes
Poor AngelFish! I have heard that pollen allergy makes migraine sufferers suffer even more. You have a 'double header' - the pollen and the migraines. But....if you can control the pollen allergy, you might not suffer too much with the migraines.
During the Spring and Summer, I virtually live on antihistamines and my asthma puffa. It's the only way I can get relief from the symptoms. I am sure that air pollution makes it worse, especially so in the mornings and evenings. I take two 'Piriton' and two squirts of 'Beconase' morning and evening, with the additional back-up of the puffa. Opticrom for when the eyes get too sore.
The Opticrom will make your eyes better, AngelFish. It'll take away the soreness and the itchiness, and the redness will go, too. I heard that pollen allergy sufferers not only have strong immune systems, but they are finely attuned to spirit.
Love,
Patsy.

RE: Sore eyes
Phew! I hope it does help, I haven't tried to Beconase nasal spray, maybe that will help too.
RE: Sore eyes
Hi all
I don't know if this is any help - it certainly won't be for the short term but it might be something to think about for the future.
As a long term hay fever sufferer (20+ years) I detoxed last year and found that I no longer seemed to get the symptoms - as part of the detox I became vegetarian, cut out wheat & dairy(though I still currently eat goats milk products & I eat fish )
I have no idea which of the foods was a trigger for my hayfever, and it may be irrelevant, as for you it may be a different food group - or indeed this may play no part in your allergy at all!!
All I can say, having got used to the piriton routine for so many years (though the last two years I've been managing with a homeopathic remedy from the health shop - together with staying indoors on sunny days[:@]) - I didn't actually know if the pollen season had started yet this year, for the first time since I was in school.
Best of luck - I sympathise completely!
Mab xx
RE: Sore eyes
Why are you sure it's pollen? (I had a client who was allergic to acrylic and it would affect her eyes even when she wore boots with an acrylic lining - I'm not suggesting it's acrylic but just giving this as an example)
