hi all, I haven't posted in a while. I am fed up looking for the needle in the haystack. I have considered myself to be wheat and dairy intolerant for many years now and limit these food groups. this is very manageable but if I over load on wheat especially I feel complete fatigue within half an hour of eating too much wheat. I have to lie down and I am completely bloated. An over dose of cows dairy results in itchy skin and acne. I also have pollen allergies. My son seems to be the same and as a baby he had gluey eyes and chest issues. Once I restricted his diet it cleared up. Now as a teenager he eats copious amounts of cereal drowning in milk. He has no energy and becomes moody.
last night I had no wheat or dairy but after eating about 10 fresh strawberries I suffered severe fatigue and bloating. Is it more likely to be fructose malabsorption? of course it is only dawning on me now that fructose is also present in wheat and dairy!
Wheat has very little sugar (about 0.3g per 100g) and the sugar in dairy is lactose.
Have you spoken to your GP? Fructose malabsorption can be diagnosed.
