My 7 year old allergy blood test is off the charts. His doctor called me this morning and told me he has never seen a child with this many allergies to foods and other stuff. He is to go to an allergy specialist in a couple of weeks. My child is an asthmatic on singular and plummet and suffers from eczema which is hard to control. Anyone with this sort of experience and if so, what have you done to protect yourself from all these allergies? Would be going from carpets to hardwood floors work? I also have a chihuahua that he just adores, and I hate to get find a new home for her.

HI- These test results must be really upsetting for you. You can do all sorts of things to potentially ease the symptoms- like changing flooring, bedding, clothes....you could go on and on...and as an immediate measure alongside any conventional treatment offered him, it might be worth thinking about. I think the response to such measures varies, person to person.
But would it be worth also considering some complementary treatments for him? Something like herbalism, acupuncture or homeopathy could run alongside his other treatment at least initially, and would address the root cause for his entire state, not just one illness. HIs general level of health would be raised and you could well find that in time, his symptoms would be minimal if not cured.
Complementary therapists are used to treating people with multiple- and severe- symptoms such as your son has- and often get really good results.

I have severe bronchial and allergic asthma. I'm allergic to almost everything outside and numerous foods. I take weekly allergy shots. I try to wear a mask outside when the wind is up, I don't go outside on ozone alert days until late evening to water my garden. My doctor told me no carpet. I have a chihuahua, but I'm not allergic to dogs. I'm allergic to cats, sheep, birds and horses. I can't go swimming because of the difference of land and water temperatures, they are too extreme for me. I use an Advair inhaler as well as nebulizer many times a day. I've had problems in the past getting off of steroids but finally conquered it with a 16 day hospital stay last August. I've only had to be on them going on my 3rd time now since and so far, had no problems coming off them. They have done some serious damage to my body, but I've had to have them. I sometimes feel like a hermit, but I have decided that I'm going to control it and not let it control me, so I have taken up many hobbies within the house like sewing and ironing for other people and the computer. Indoor activities for a child could be a little harder than for an adult, but he may adapt more easily than you can expect. Bless his heart, I totally understand what you, and he are going through. Try getting air-purifiers for all rooms of your home; he spends a lot of time in, especially his bedroom. They seem to help me, I just need another one.Dictionary

Hi!

Very often if you can sort out your internal environment, your immune system can deal with the external pollutions etc. By that I mean to make sure you are not consuming mucous-forming foods such as soya, cows milk products, wholemeal flour and oranges/juice.

I would say to address these issues first, remembering that soya has 8 different names and is highly mucous-forming. I have always looked for these four culprit foods when treating any respiratory/lung conditions, also magnesium deficiency partiluarly where asthmatics are concerned.

Do let me know if you need any further info on this.

Candlelight 🙂 x
