Im sure Im one of many who planned to stop smoking on the 1st of July .
I decided to use patches as I felt the gum /inhaler meant I was still actively doing something when the the craving started so in fact the habitual side was still being fed . I would say 30% of me is addicted and 60% of me is a habitual smokerbut Im a smokere regardless. The patches enable me to keep the more harmful chemicals out but Im still taking in the addictive chemical. I have days where I dont smoke that much and others where I smoke more , the patches are now giving me more nicotine than Im used to, . Ive been on line today and found an Oral drug called(Chapmix) its not a nicotine replacement as it focuses on the nicotine receptors in the brain your not slowly cutting down on the nicotine you are stopping it .
If you do have a cigarette the drug actually makes it less desirable , this drug has been produced with the sole effect of stopping smoking where as other oral drugs have been produced for something else but one of the side effects is they have helped people give up .
. Its a 12 week course which is used alongside group counselling session . There’s lots on line regarding the drug . I was wondering if anyone has used or are using( Champix)and how they are finding it . x Wrenn

RE: Champix for stopping smoking .
I had smoked between 40 - 80 a day for 38 years and had terrible chest problems -in and out of hospital etc. Over the years I had spent a fortune on trying to give up smoking, and tried everything there is. A year ago I tried patches but was still smoking around 7 a day. Zyban made me ill. Like you I heard of Champix and asked my GP. He prescribed them and I set my quit date for 10th feb. For the first 2 weeks or so after that I admit I had about 4 puffs of a cigarette a day, before I went to bed at night, and for a couple of weeks after I substituted that for those awful herbal things you get from health shops. ( I could never have smoked those before but it was any port in a storm) I didn't take the full 12 weeks of the champix, I took them for 8 in total and for the last week I had cut them down to half dose. Its now been almost 4 months and I am cigarette free for the first time in my life, so for me, Champix was brilliant. However, I have to say that I don't think anyone will give up with any method till that little thing clicks in your brain and says 'I want to stop' - unfortunately that happens too late for some. Looking back I am glad I didn't use nicotine replacements as I feel they would have prolonged theaddiction to nicotineand I wanted free of it the sooner the better. As to the smoking ban - - it doesn't bother me now! I still have cravings and bad days and probably will do for some time, but its getting easier.

I was also a heavy smoker from the age of twelve when i took a puff of my friends ciggy, what a fool,it hooked me most of my life spent god knows how much money and caused me health problems.i tryed several times over the years and failed,however...hypnothearapy helped me and iwas free of it for 5yrs....yes stupid me took one at a party and i was addicted again.I had to go into hospital for day surgery and had an asthma attact under the ansetic ,when the doctor told me i was soooo scared that it was the turing point for me.
Ihave been a non smoker now for nine years and my mind was really in tune with my determination and willpower to give up that last time.
am i glad to be a non smoker when i see those people standing out in the wet or freezing cold smoking.

I can recommend a reputable pharmacy (Champix) I received the order and it was on time and the pills work great.
