I chose mine mainly to maintain consistency, since this is also my web address. The web address itself was chosen by my partner, after one of several crystal skulls which we own. I have thought about changingit to something which is more me, but decided not to in the end as I have been so long now it would only end up confusing everybody!

I'm so pleased you started this thread. I've always wondered how everyone came up with such good names.
As you can see I use my real name but only beacause I couldn't think of a good username.When I joined HP I spent ages trying to think of a name. I chose the name Suki . I seriously have no idea why. I made about two posts before I asked Amber would she change it for me.
Can't wait to see who else replies.

In passing, I'll say that my "strapline", though by no means original, is one I very much believe in, and I am also a drummer, so I thought it was an appropriate "link".

Mine's a nickname I've had since school, being called Justine it became Jussy and then eventually Gussie. Been called all osrts of permutations of that, some nice, some not so nice.. but it's me.

Now I work for myself a lot of people call me Justicia as a nickname and I completely hate it, it'sthe company name, not my name, and it's a distinction I wanted very clear when I chose it, but it doesn't stop others winding me up about it..

Thanks for explaning Gussie...I've always wondered about the Justine/Justicia thing too:)And there was me thing you lived a double life...or your parents had a funny sense of humour...or maybe you married someone similarly afflicted....???

I just chose mine because it's a jolly nice name 😀 :D:D

Redfern is my surname -sorry not to be more interesting!

I haven't got around to changing my surname since I married last year but my passport is due for renewal soon so time to make a decision. However,I like Redfern and its 'Me'. Have never quite worked out though if I should be a Miss, Ms or Mrs as a married woman keeping her maiden name.

Well, I'm another who chose to use their website name! When registering the domain years ago every 'Reiki' type name had been used already. So, I just put together the two wonderful energies I work with and came up with Reikiangel which was accepted!

Well I chose mine as I was soooooo busy with college, course work, case-studies and revising there was no time for anything else...... a friend sent me an email saying " you are a busy bee"......

Sorry to be so down-to-earth but I originally chose mine to post on a football message board... I'm a sub-editor (or sub) by trade and supersub had a footballing connotation. So I thought I'd better stick with that here to stop myself getting confused!

By the way, Suzanne, I second that about your name being a nice one. We chose Susanna for our second daughter 12 years ago. It was only later that we discovered it meant "lily". Strangely, our elder daughter's name is... Lili.

Well I chose Lotusflower cos my husband comes from the land of the Lotus Eaters (Thailand). But I thought if I called myself Lotus Eater, you guys might think I wasa bit weird:eek:so I changed it to lotusflower.

You all have nice names except me.I chose my initals as I could'nt think of anything else at the time,I wonder if it can be changed.L.G is a bit boring.

I thought about using my domain name, but then felt it might look like an outrageousbit of self-promotion, so I went with Purplehelen instead! And I think using a variation of my real name is a bit friendlier, too.

Mypartner uses the name 'Finding McFlappy'as his forum-name (but sadly he's not on HP!). I can't remember why - something about it being hard to find anyone called McFlappy, I think....

If you want to change your name LG just PM one of the administrators, Gillyann, Leonardo and Artemis with the new name and they will take care of it.

Nice Touch was the heading I chose for the brochure in my Business awareness assignment, when I was doing my Massage course.
A friend translated it into french (correctly I hope)and thought it would sound better, although I did not use it on my brochure I used it on here.
I thought it sounded young, sexy and skinny:D

Thing is my bro is a DJ, whos known as DJ SimonZ and i look so much like my bro, and wanted tofollow his footstepsas a DJ at 1 point *rolleyeyes*so i decided i'll add a z in my name for the fun of itnow its stayed.

hi I chose my name using my partners mum because she loves angels and i once found a white feather so i got featherlady and then found a picture to go with it which i love

I'm dead impressed not only with your web names but also with your avatars. Somehow that's a bit of web technology which has passed me by so I'm not very original visually on HP - sorry!
'BigVoice' because my voice is one of the most important aspects of my physical life. It's one of my main vehicles for healing as well as for earning my living.
The name is also a challenge to myself: at the time I joined HP I was trying to break out of being always the conciliator who fled confrontation. I'm learning more now to stand my ground (or any ground I might choose), without getting hot under the collar but also without dissolving intothe soft-spoken, desperate-to-please little vicarage boy that I once was. I'm actually a robust man who is knocking 40 - about time to sound that way!!

I like Bears and I like Lilies, very simple 😉 Neither are my most favourite, but the first time I use bearlily on another forum I was feeling an affinity with bears! And I have also always liked Lily for a name.

I chose mine because my name is Mandy and people called me Milly Molly Mandy as a child, which over the years got shortend to Mollykins and 74 year I was born.

There was no doubting what my name would be - Serendipity came to mind and that was that! I am fascinated by the notions of fate and co-incidence. I certainly feel I am guided and I keep a little book to note down the co-incidences that occur in my life each day, just to remind myself!!
Great topic by the way - was wondering about some of the names myself! What a creative bunch eh!
